Does anyone know of any written or visual breakdowns shot by shot in Ridley Scott movies, preferably the early ones like BR, Alien, Legend, Black Rain;
something that shows shot by shot what lenses were used, exposures anything like that.

Thanks

The Duellists (his first & still one of his best, IMO) has a good Director's commentary where Ridley talks about use of natural light (and minimal lighting) plus art direction thoughts. There's also an interesting interview doc with Ridley and Kevin Reynolds.

IMDB will probably help you track film stock and lenses used... but I don't think you'll find details on lenses, exposures and shot by shot breakdowns in great detail. Maybe try 'Making of' books from the time - although they very rarely deal with lenses, stick, exposure etc - they normally deal with Art Direction, costume et al.

Jeff Cronenweth (who DP'ed Girl with a Dragon Tatoo) is the son of Jordan Cronenweth (who did blade runner, etc). Jordan used panavision anamorphs, which have been written up. I'm perty sure Jeff would know shot by shot the anamorphic lenses used(I'm sure he is lurking around here somewhere ;) ?

Old ASC link with on Jordan and Blade Runner ... http://www.theasc.com/magazine/mar99/blade/pg1.htm
