Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
Sounds cool. But at what point do you lose interest in the project since the crowd is meddling.
I would be afraid that the end result would just be soulless mush.
And I'm watching the explanation but as a film maker... do I really want some random guy online choosing the location I'm going to shoot at? Are they going to fill out all the paperwork for the location? Are they going to spend the extra money to fly the entire crew there?
Ahhhhhhhhh, the word revolutionary still means the same it always has, a bunch of "innovative" people fighting the system with ideas that sound so cool on paper and are so utterly unattainable in real life that it makes me laugh...I love the part about the crowd dictating what kind of movie gets made, I suppose the "investors" will get to choose director, actors and tweak the script too?
This kinda kills a films doesn't it? Film is viewed through one window and thats through the team thats making it, mostly through the director's vision for the final product.
Having so many people involved sounds like having a gazillion windows open and not knowing which view to look out of...eventually you try looking out of one but that has another window through it and you look out of that...and well...lets just say the idea of the camel in the above posts seems to be true..
There needs to be a limit to what the audience can say. If Watchmen or Godfather was ever done like this...god know what the end product would've been.
