looking for a light medium cine zoom factotum.
can you give me some advice between:

-ELITE 24-82 MK-IV 1 : 2.8
http://www.optica-elite.com/products/lenses-s35/
5-6k coverage?
@t2.8 resolution on corners?
"I do not know, but it looks good"

-Zeiss CZ 28-80

-Arri Fujinon 18-80

I currently use a Canon 24-70 2.8L II, but not as nice and easy to keep the focus on my Red Epic (Canon/PL mount)

thanks for any suggestions

I still love my Angenieux Optimo 16-42 and 30-80 DP zooms. They cover Dragon 6K HD no problem and are both sharp and they're pretty affordable 2nd hand these days. I still want to get ahold of the CZ 28-80, I've used the 70-200 a bunch and it's very sharp and breathing is quite well controlled but it does have that cool, clinical Zeiss look. I haven't tried the Alura Arri/Fujinon or OPtica Eliete but the Russian Made glass seems to need an inordinate amount of maintenance compared to the European options.

I agree what you say!
Angenieux Optimo 16-42 and 30-80 DP zooms = 2 zoom= 2 cost I thought of them but I would just mount a lens

reasoning......
I have a set GL rehoused Zeiss/contax 28 f2 - 50 f1.4 - 85 f1.4 - 135 f2.8 Canon mount
and Samyang/Rokinon 24-35-85 cine Canon mount
If you bought a:
Zeiss LWZ.2 Lightweight 15.5-45mm Canon mount (+PL mount) to use with my 85mm

I'd rather choose a zoom lens with double mount Canon for my use and PL for rent.

Angenieux Optimo 16-42 can mount Canon?

Any suggestion well accepted

Ciao Stefano,

2Kg is a little too much for the EOS mount...keep that in mind when choosing the mount for the zooms...

their "lightweight" definition is referred to cine standards...and PL mount strength...

grazie
I owned a Canon K35 24-120 6,5kg and Red 18-50
I wanted something handheld eos/PL 2-3 kg

The Angenieux 16-42 or 30-80 cannot be remounted to Canon EF. Only PL. The 15-40mm Optimo Can be used in Canon EF Mount with a proper adapter. Also all of the Canon CN-E PL Mounted zooms can be converted to be PL or Canon EF. I do this conversion. Take a look at this video. I can convert the 15.5-47, 30-105 & 30-300mm lenses.
