I'd like to see cables in the future EPIC renders. I'd like to see the BOMB cable coming off the EVF and where it goes, I'd like to see the LCD cable and how that looks..

Also, I'd like to see renders with a mixture of old and new technology.

Many of us will have to "build" our systems over time, we will not be able to replace our current packages all at once. Things like RED Drives, and RED Batteries (As well as AB Bats) will continue to be used for a while for some.

The $10,000 (Or so) buy in on the Epic-X is a WONDERFUL deal and I am honored to be involved in it, that said, 10 grand is a lot of cash to some, and they might need to take all of this one step at a time.

Another factor (I hope this doesn't happen.. But...) is stock availability, history has shown that availability of this stuff tends to "ramp up" over time (Sometimes 1-5 months), and it's unlikely we'll be able to get everything we want, all at once.. We may need elements from our origional REDs to get Epic up and running right away.

It would be nice to get some visuals on how our future will look.

Just a suggestion..

Building an epic in my mind.

Building an epic in my mind.

THe cables might not be pretty and I know RED has put a lot of thought as where they will go but I agree with Jay that it would be great to piece these things together in our minds to make it all make sense with our old parts.

Slightly Off Topic:

Jay ... I just bought your DVD at Abel Cine Tech here in NYC and I really look forward to watching it. I am especially interested in which accessories you believe will be Epic/Scarlet friendly.

It's pretty obvious stuff Peter, but helpful to the beginner.. Hence, the "101".

Examples would be: Matteboxes, follow focus, lights, tripods, ect.
