  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Does RedRushes freeze for you too? Or more specifically never get started as mine does.

Redcine usually, but not always, when rendering multiple clips to QT, will render a freeze frame of the first frame of the first clip in the timeline.

This freeze frame is what every clip contains, i.e shot 30 in the timeline contains only a freeze frame of the first frame of shot one. All the shots are the correct length, i.e 30 second long, 10 second long, etc. but not the correct material.

Rendering to DPX or Tiff seems to work fine.

Windows XP (found this to be the same on my intel mac as well though)

Has anyone else been having problems with the histogram in RedCine? Or perhaps I'm making some really obvious mistake... Haven't used it since a couple of versions ago.

Anyway - the behavior is this: histo shows a bunch of spikes spaced out along the scale, clearly not related to the image. Changing the frame or the shot shows the exact same thing, no change at all. Maybe it doesn't like my graphics card? (I'm on a PC laptop, with ATI FireGL T2 onboard graphics.)

I'm using OSX 10.5.4, Intel Mac 2x Dual, latest software and working with build 16 footage. I transcoded one scene error free and now that I move on to the next scene, all of the shots are importing as black frames.

I can still see the shot in Red Alert. But since Redrushes crashes on render, Red Alert render times are painful and FCP F&L is defaulting to the metadata lookup and is all washed out, the idea of transcoding rushes one shot at a time doesn't thrill me. Any ideas?

The footage is 4K, shot 30fps, RedSpace, Project is HDTV res 25fps, transcoding to Apple ProRes 422 (HQ).

On my PC laptop:

1) any attempt to output quicktime from RedCine results in "Failed to process frame" errors on every frame.

2) output to frame-based format (jpg, tiff) at 4k - either through Output or Snapshot - results in a corrupt frame like the one attached below.

I'm assuming this is a "your gpu isn't good enough" problem. (I've got ATI FireGL T2 onboard.) Can someone confirm this, and tell me if there's a workaround? I really need to view some footage, low res quicktime-stylee, and I ain't got no Mac.

Hi

I wanted to convert a short to dpx. After I loaded the Proxies from Crimson (128 files) I wasn't able to open a project anymore.
The open dialog appears but no drives or files are shown.
After a while Redcine crashed.

Edit: I deleted Libraries/Redcine and reinstalled Redcine. Now it won't even start. The application quits right after the splash screen.

Edit: Restored a backup and it happened again. This time I'm attaching the last logfile.
In the console the following error appears: "HIToolbox is damaged. Aborting..."

Edit: Redcine starting now. Updated OSX, removed Motion.component and Livetype.component from Library/Quicktime and trashed Library/Redcine folder. The issue with the file browser not working remains. It's also discussed in another thread.
 
When changing the format aspect the image in the viewer is not displayed correctly. You have to restart Redcine.

Negative scaling (Flip-Flop) is not redered correctly. The image is still upside down but squeezed. At least with my 2:1 pixel aspect ratio Project.

Horizontal shifts are not rendered correctly either. No WYSIWYG. I'd say the actual shift is double of what you enter. (At 2:1 pixel aspect ratio).

Edit: When reloading saved projects, Y offset is reversed !!!

I love color correction in RED CINE but export in HQ 442 QuickTime is a pain in the @!#$%^*(sss

didnt tried to export with out the color correction.
I have tried QT and others profiles
the out res is 1080p and 720p
