Hi,

I'm trying to make a workflow where I'll be able to
- hook up the camera to the computer (via sdi to BM ultrastudio mini recorder)
- record proxies with timecode synced from sdi (right now I'm using scopebox which requires me push record both on camera and in software - but really looking for a software with auto rec which is another problem)
- instantly drag recorded proxy in to premiere to preview what's recorded in a pre-made sequence and get client approval before continuing with next scene
and later in post
- batch replace all the proxies with r3d - regardless of filenames

I'm able to replace one clip at a time if I know witch r3d-file is associated with that proxy-file but this is a bit too much trouble for post and I don't see why a software couldn't do this automagically..

PPro can do this but you need some amount of linkage from proxy->hi res. Usually people will link with something like timecode + reel name. Generally you want two pieces of metadata because you could have timecode overlap between two clips. When you go to Proxy->Reconnect Full Resolution Media you get the options to search for in the bottom left. Look at tape name, Media Start etc.
