Anyone in LA area do repairs on the Red battery charger? For some reason one of my channels is now causing issues. I'll drop a battery into channel 1 and I'll get a blinking orange light for roughly 2-5 minutes that will eventually switch over to a blinking Red light. Letting it sit overnight, the battery will get no charge. Channel 2 is fine. I tried bending the small clips back out a bit on the charger but no luck. Still goes orange orange orange then Red.

Red doesn't fix these things and since I'm out of warranty, I didn't really want to spend $550 on another charger. Anyone have any solutions to this problem?

Thanks

Since it is out of warranty I would say get a new one from another company. That is the only solution that may work.

I wish Red could just repair these things. $550 seems like a lot for a disposable item. Seems like Red doesn't handle anything remotely battery related. It's a shame because I'd rather give my money to Red..

Rick, I've got the same issue. For the past 6 months terminal 2 has been down inexplicably. Same situation flashing red and orange... and unfortunately they don't repair them.

Then ironically, tonight, right after reading your post I put a battery on my charger and now terminal one is just a solid red color I guess indicating battery failure. This is very odd because it is showing that same solid red for all of my batteries. I could believe that maybe one of them may have just failed but not all.

This is very frustrating because I really baby this thing and can't understand why it's breaking down. It literally never leaves the shelf in my office, which is out of direct sunlight, well ventilated, and mostly dust free. If anyone has any suggestions for repair I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,

Omar

Weird, see, mine is the opposite. It's a work-a-holic so it's understandable that the pins would wear out over time. I just wish pin replacement was an option. When my ET Breakoutbox started to fritz, I only had to replace the bnc channel which was relatively inexpensive to repair. Red should offer this service of repair for battery parts that are out of warranty, otherwise, yes, I will just buy a charger from a different company that can repair the unit it when/if it goes down.

Ok, I just re-seated the battery and pushed down very hard on top of it as I turned the charger on and it is now charging. So it is obviously an issue with the pins and contacts and not something internal to the charger. Just figured I'd share.

Thanks for the heads up Curran. I saw that on the Switronix website last night. Looks like a pretty awesome unit. Good to hear some first hand feedback.

hello, we have bad 2 charges.
both we have 2 years, out of RED warranty.
Red dont repair it, and can not help with documentation or with contact on producer.
i dont know why.
Buy new one from another company, it helps :o)

happened to me too.

burned up connector on the board

my buddy fixed mine. i would guess he would charge about $150 to fix it. you need to resolder the wire inside but its kinda complicated.

I bought a PAG Cube- its awesome

The best part of the Switronix Quad charger is that it not only charges each battery faster, but it does all four at the same time. The Red Charger only charges one at a time.

I like being able to put four batteries on and then go to sleep. With the Red Charger you would have to wake up in the middle of the night and put the other two on.

Hey, do you know if this charger will work with Epic batteries? Probably not I would guess - Curran, are you keeping your charger?

Will the Switronix charge Red Brick batteries? The Red bricks will show LEDs on during charge??
Thanks,
Guido
