I think it is more about YOU!

Do/will productions hire YOU as a DP, DIT, Operator....... ? If so then you can maybe also get a rental. If not then you are a rental house and you will need (or have access to) everything a Red package might want: S4s Optimos, filters, heads...

I am a DP with 11 cameras and an 8 ton G&E truck. People hire me for my eye, attutide, experience...... and I have gear wich is a bonus/convience for production.

We all ask ourselves this question....often. So far I have lived by the motto "no guts no glory!" I hope not to die by it!

...I'm getting both, whenever they come out. As long as I'm paying off a loan, why wouldn't I borrow a little more and stay competitive?

I subscribe to the same philosophy as Steve Sherrick and Billy Mead. As long as you hustle, and are smart about what you offer, there's always money to be made.
