I'm offering the rental of my Canon 7D with permanent Hard front PL mount.

I think we all know the 7D's strengths and limitations, but if not:

Advantages:
1.It's Very Small. Great Digital Director's Viewfinder, can be used for shots where a red is simply too big.

2.It doesn't draw as much attention as a Red One Package out in the open.

3.Good for a quickie shot, B Cam or C cam to the Red One or any other digital or film cam utilizing PL Mounted lenses.

4.Excellent low light performance.

5. Ease of Use.

Disadvantages:
1.It's not a Red.
2. Doesn't shoot to a raw codec, only 1920x1080p at 23,98,25 or 29.97fps, 50 or 60fps at 720p.
3. Not great for sound recording, but can be used in a pinch.

Now that all of that is out of the way, please get in touch if you are interested in renting this camera, or hiring me with the camera as an additional operator or Camera tech. Located in the Los Angeles Area, but Have Gun, Will Travel.:coolgleamA:

As tested with a set of Master Primes it appears to be collimated well so far, will be testing further this week and will be doing a full report on it.

Thanks for asking!

Is that the one that was sold on eBay recently?

It's definitely a 19mm rod system.

Can't go back to using canon lenses on this particular unit of mine, but I have two other fully stock 7Ds for rent if you prefer those.

Personally I hate Canon Glass ;P.

I like to use Zeiss ZF and Zeiss Contax on my other 7D Bodies.

Looking forward to hopefully purchasing a set of Red Pro Primes to use and rent out with this bad boy and my future Scarlet S35/epic? purchases... in fact if anyone who owns RPPs wants to test them out with the 7D, I'd be more than happy to do a camera prep/test with you on an off day.

Furthermore, if Jarred Land or Jim Jannard read this, I am definitely going to be attending the Red Day at Renmar studios, and I'd be happy to bring this along to do some kind of side by side comparison to highlight what these DSLRs with video are NOT. I know that this is not a "red killer" or a "Scarlet Killer" but I think these are really cool cameras and they can perfectly compliment a Red, Sony F35, D-21 or even a film camera as a director's viewfinder or insert-cam for real quick pick ups and other oddities.

I have a full set of AKS including Redrock Mattebox, Redrock Follow Focus, 4x5.65 glass filters, and a decent Cartoni Fluid Head on a miller compact 100mm ball set of sticks.

It's very similar to, but not the exact same one that was recently sold on ebay.

Thanks for taking a look!

feel free to email me at info@dankanes.com if you want to take a look at it.

Dan, I'll be there and would like to see it, even if outside of the RED event. I have a 7D also and think it is a good complement to the R1.

Any limit to the wide angle lenses like a UP 10mm or even 8mm or the T2 10 and 12mm? I mean do the rear optics protrude into the shutter area?

The shutter and mirror box have been hollowed to allow for the use of even the deepest lenses. So far the only lens I have seen that won't work is the optimo rouge with its weird cylindrical rear element that goes way deep. If it fits a film camera it should fit this.

i would love to check it out and i would love to meet you. i am in los angeles, and after this next week i should have a little time to come by and say hello.
