Folks,

If you shoot or post RED, this iPhone app will have a direct bearing on the way you do business:

Love to get some feedback and forward to the developers.

They do have a number of codes for a free copy of the app and they we're looking for endorsees. If you look at the website and think you could add a line of endorsement, I could facilitate a code over to you for the download:

Bill--yes you are right. Looks like the graphic designer mixed those up in Photoshop.

Too funny, I read it again and convinced myself that it was probably OK.... and deleted my comment.

Bill--it was a good catch. If you haven't downloaded it yet, let me know and I'll have the developers get you a code for a free download.

awesome awesome concept. now the tricky part. lots of people need to use it in order for it to be worth its worth. $6.99 is on the higher end for apps, a price of $2.99 would rule out those that shouldn't be using the app, but not waste the money of those that are simply worried about its potential. alternatively, there should be two editions. one for "pro" users -- those that RENT OUT GEAR, and then the consumer version, just for people looking to RENT GEAR. this would increase the number of users dramatically. the way i see it, that's the only way to play this game. but what do i know about apps

Jason,

This app pays for itself in a single use. I can guarantee its worth $6.99.

Case in point--I had a gent come in yesterday and request an item we normally don't rent since it was bundled with a larger package. I did a quick calc and said "Well...the app shows this item would normally rent for $80 per week..." He said "Done!" and paid on the spot. So far, this app has paid for itself tenfold over in a single day. I'm currently $73.01 richer for having this app on my phone.

You can look at it in two ways--saving you money or making you money. Look around at all the freeloaders who ask for your gear and then use the app to tell them the real worth. When they see the range on the app, it brings them down to earth a little bit. Its not such a vacuous idea, but now a real number that is presented for their deliberation.

Torrey, I like it. Have input my equipment and now can see what a realistic rate would be. I'll definitely be referring to it when folks ask for the moon.

Mark--bingo! You got the concept.

When you look around your place and realize everything you have, it adds up to a lot of potential for new revenues.

Love the app. Thanks. Will be using it a lot. For a suggestion, it would be great to be able to choose component items and put them into a seperate page that adds them all up for a package quick reference quote.

Already mentioned it on my personal and business Facebook and Twitter pages after getting the email the other day, too cool not to mention it! :)

Thanks Zack!

Mike,

Multi-item bundling is coming!

They also had the request for syncing so folks who have it on iPhone and their iPad can access the same gear list. Further, they're adding other currency symbols for better international use. Finally, they're determining a method for doing the same rental estimates for facilities. So if you have an extra suite with some gear, you'll know how to price out that room for people who want to use it.

Very cool. WIll look forward to the next bundle. Already have my equipment list plugged in. Was quick and easy to do. Now just waiting on Stage 3 and my new X.

Thanks Torrey,

rentme App will be the most on demand App on any Production… Its that great to have, no more trying to calculate the Rental rates for any given gear…

Just insert Name, Price value of the gear and you get an immediate response with Rental rates… FANTASTIC APP!!

Thanks Ketch!

Suggestions?

Suggestions?

If anyone has any suggestions not mentioned so far, let me know and I'll pass them to the dev team at Honey Badger.

Sam...the metric is pretty accurate worldwide. I can't imagine there are countries where less ROI would be acceptable.

Real rental rates are negotiated at time of rental, but this app establishes a fair starting point.
