Hi all,

this is not my computer so forgive me if I don't have all the info, but my friend is trying to render out some video files and is coming across this visual artifacting bug that is getting baked into the final rendered footage for some reason:

You can download a 2 minute test video (in FLV format as that's what he needs to provide) showing the problem here (38MB):

As you can see, the diagonal grid lines are baked into the footage for some reason.

What's the cause of this? System is a 2008 Mac Pro with ATI 4870 GPU, 2x 4 core Intel CPUs, 12GB RAM etc. Using Adobe CS5 Master Collection with all updates applied. Snow Leopard 10.6.6. Magic Bullet Suite is also installed.

Thanks for any and all info or solutions!

Cheers,

Paul

is there a plugin or third party filter used on that shot? I've encountered this before in FCP after updates to the NLE and the plugins get really glitchy. might be a compatibility issue if that's the case. if there isn't than hmm...

Thanks guys, will pass on the info. I know he bought Magic Bullet Suite so probably he forgot to enter serial numbers somewhere by accident.

Cheers!

Solved the problem! It was exactly as mentioned - he had accidentally clicked the demo option the first time he ran the software and even though he had put the keys in, some setting must have remained to tell CS5 it was still in demo mode.

I fixed it by clicking on the little setup button next to the Effect Controls plugin line and entering the serial info again.

Then I removed the plugins from the shot and added them back again. Voila! no more weird lines or colours.

Thanks for everyone's help!

Cheers from Tokyo,

Paul
