  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RELEASED: Release Build 20 Firmware (v20.1.3)

My guess would be to prevent that upon installation of the new build you'd get asked again to install the build.
(But I would love to be able to preserve the user settings between each upgrade...)

That is correct.

Then next time try this - save a USER PREF file to SD Card prior to doing the firmware upgrade... then read it back after the upgrade.
 
Thank you very much for a new release build. At last the professional rental houses can play with the toys the beta users have had all the fun with.
 
From page 16 of the new operations guide: "The sequence of 12-bit RAW images received from the sensor is compressed using proprietary wavelet based REDCODE™ RAW compushion." The term appears again on page 112. What's "compushion"? My guess was "compassionate pixel fushion". ;)

Jim Hare... we have the opposite problem - 2 camera telemovie just finished prep, so they're locked in to 17 for 5 weeks!

However, we have a 1 week shoot on RED Primes prepping tomorrow... Build 20 here we come!
 
As far as I remember, I never succeed rolling a playback with sound embended in the red drive. Just installed build 20.1.3 and finally the boring audio playback is gone. At least with mode 4K 2/1 at 24Fps (didn't try other set up yet). For me that build is worth the install, happy not having to send back the drive in London facility. Thank you to the red team for all that hard work. I'll have a toast of Super Tuscan tonight in honor of all of you.

New firmware 2 min before shoot.

Build the camera, download 20.1.3, flash camera, black calibrate, just in time DOP need camera, carry camera to jib -> shoot for 8h, No crash, no reboot, no problem at all. :emote_hippie:

I can't wait to use this because I'm getting REALLY TIRED of the Camera Rebooting after Playback with Build 17. Red don't fail me now.

Now if we could only have a build 20 for the V-lock battery mount;)
