Changes since v3.1.0:

* Fixes the green flashing and other bug fixes
* Added the control panel to set the half res decode modes

Thanks, BC

Congratulation!

Brent, can you explain the control panel and when/how we would use it?

Didn't seem to make difference in FCP, so to control playback quality in QT Player just like controlling it with RT Video Quality?

It also fixes the direct import from QT references into Media Composer from files made in REDrushes.

Thanks!

Michael

Ok...lets try it...thanks team.

The difference between the two modes is similar to the difference in RR/RA.
Half normal is the fast mode and half high is the slower half res debayer.
The control panel lets you force one or the other so you have a choice depending on speed/quality you want to process at.

Does anyone know if this fixes the problem when rendering DNxHD quicktimes?

That's related to the new codec from Avid that should be out soon.
It does however fix the problems with ingesting QT wrappers straight into media composer.

Hi

Will DNxHD type selection be available soon within Red tools. At the moment they all (when at 25p) render out DNxHD 185x with an interlaced flag. This interlaced flag is causing me problems within Avid.

If no selection is exposed please, in the short term, at least hardwire it to progressive.

hopefully and thankfully

Michael

We've been looking for a way to do this. Quicktime is a royal PITA for things like this if you do command line stuff.

The Avid DNxHD QT codec with the fix will ship next week with teh v.3.0.5 release. The codec will also be posted to the knowledgebase when ready for those not using MC to install the codec.

Fantastic Deanan/Michael, we are one step closer.

Two more steps (soon please)

1. Ability to select DNxHD codec, as an example 1080 23.976 using 36 for offline and 175x for mastering

2. Direct import of timecode and metadata when Quicktime is imported

When you finish that you know we'll ask for more. (think built in Avid import tool no need for Red tools, higher bit depth)

OK I must be blind I don't see it. Please lead me by the hand.

Kevin

Ken, the control panel thing is not included in the FCS installer.

You have to install the REDCODE installer first, then FCS installer.

I have both Red Alert and Red Cine installed, and that gives me Red Rushes, but what is RedCode.
