goodbye, rocketcine.... you were loved dearly... Thanks Brent.

Why ? REDCINE-X is in the current version same fast as rocketcine in transcodes... ????

+1 to what Rainer said. RocketCine is dead. Why do people "need" to keep using it? I could kinda understand before the last few builds when there was a speed difference, but what's the point now?

This is a serious question.

Jeff, at least to us RocketCine-X was a far easier to use interface.

That made us quicker.

Us being quickder was always better.

Sad to see it go as well...

FWIW folks, RCX is now solid for me. Maybe not quite ROCK solid, but reliable. I am as we speak doing 1 lights and rendering footage from a short I shot for a director last week, and have been cranking on the rocket all week. The last 2 builds have been very solid for me. No hangs on renders in about a month. It crashes on me now and then, but only now and then - about as much as FCP.

Its now as fast, and more solid, in my experience, than RocketCine was. And a lot more powerful, with a better UI, etc etc

Move on.

Hm. Here's why I LOVE Rocketcine-X

Sitting with conform on a 5 episode TV-series with RED, P2, 5D, 7D and XDCAM-HD, all kid of stuff done in the timeline. All this is to be conformed to AJA log & sent to Color for grading.

With Clipfinder/Rocketcine-X I can send the clips I want to firstlight to Rocketcine-X in batches and just add to the render as I go, and I do not get issues with non-RED material.

Would this be the case with RedCine-X?

Just finish 60 days of shoot with redrocket encoding MXF for editer and Prores for DVD and Rocket Cine IS far more adequate for that kind of task... fast card loading, no floating windows around, etc. its perfect for on set fast encoding... visual is simple and its easy to keep track on the job.

Ive used redcine-X for conform and its quite a powerfull software for that... thats all!

Red, just keep those two software please!

Mind if we get back on topic? Has anyone installed this yet? And if so, is it working solid for them or introducing new bugs?
