Released on RED.com today, the latest version of RED Final Cut Studio 3 Installer (v30.1.0): www.red.com/support/release_history/8#193

Changes since last version (v20.0.0):
* Support for Mysterium-X sensor as well as the Mysterium sensor.
* Support for RED ONE camera firmware up through Build 30.
* Support for latest color science science. Old footage WILL look different from any previous release. If you need to keep the old you can install version 20.0.0.
* You can now change gamma space, color space, ISO, FLUT, shadow, DRX, curves and lift / gamma / gain for your QuickTime reference files by (re)generating your QuickTime reference files with the latest REDCINE-X build.
* Added support to Apple Color’s RED room for the new REDgamma gamma space and REDcolor color space.
* Added support to Apple Color’s RED room for 4.5K footage. Clips recorded at 4.5K (4480 × 1920) will load as if they were shot with a resolution of 2240 × 960 due to Apple Color being limited to 4K maximum resolution. Half-resolution decodes for 4.5K footage will not go through any debayer.
* ISO in Apple Color’s RED room does not go beyond ISO 2000. Any clips shot at a higher ISO will be clamped to ISO 2000.
* Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) is no longer supported with this release.

Please see release notes and/or readme files for further details. NOTE: Whitepaper is included in download.

ALWAYS READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CONTAINED IN THE DOWNLOADED INSTALLATION FILES BEFORE PROCEEDING.

If you have any questions or feedback, please contact RED Technical Support at www.red.com/support.

Thanks, BC

Installed fine for me here. I'm not sure what the issue could be for you, Frank. Did you have the previous v30.0.0 installed?

i am trying but still no working !!!

dear i need a help :)
no body answer my question

Hi Nawaf. Please explain what kind of footage you're using and what happens when you try to put it into an FCP sequence. For example, are you using the QuickTime reference movies (_H, _M, and so forth) or are you using QuickTime wrappers containing native REDCode?

Sorry for the delay Jeff. Independence day weekend and all. I will check my previous version and and get back. I'm not near my Mac Pro at the moment. Thanks for the response.

Hi Frank.
Which part is greyed out?

From introduction
Both go back and continue

i tried many kind of importing
4.5k resolution 4480x1920 down convert using (red alert) to half 2240x960 Apple ProRes 4.2.2 (HQ) and import into fcp when i try to play it its playing with changing aspec ratio (squeeze)!!!! why?????????

also i tried importing dirictly from fcp log and transfer i tired both native and Apple ProRes 4444
same problem when playing.

Best Regards

Be sure to allow some time after launching the installer. I've noticed that there can be a delay before it enables those controls. If they remain disabled, it definitely sounds like a bad installer, since "Go back" should obviously not be greyed out. I tried this on a 10.5.8 system and didn't see that problem.

I'll PM you with an alternate download link.

Brent, for those of us with the Red Rocket, is the preferred work flow still to use Red Cine X to make fast offlines, then use something like ClipFinder to relink it to proxies in Final Cut?

That's what I've been doing, though I hope one day we will be able to use the Rocket with FCP and Color directly.

Thanks!

Jim

Yes, that is the preferred workflow (RCX).

We don't have a solution to accelerate L&T with rocket due to some quicktime restrictions and how rocket works. We'll keep searching as
we want it also.

Nawaf, this looks to me like FCP issue. I would look first at Your sequence settings (make sure the pixel resolution is 2240x960 and the pixel aspect ratio is SQUARE) and then check the clip settings (in the Motion tab)...

Cheers

Also, Nawaf, I want to get this straight - You are using RED-Alert to down-convert 4.5K footage? How is that possible? RED-Alert only supports R3Ds up to build 21 - which does not support 4.5K. Is it that You are maybe using RED Cine-X (RCX)? I am not trying to pick on You at all, just to make it easier for us to troubleshoot Your issue...

Also - once You transcode (presumably using RCX) the R3Ds to half res ProRes QTs - the new FCP plugin plays no role in Your workflow - which again points out at FCP sequence/clip setting issue. Can You open the transcoded QTs in QT player (not FCP) and see how they look? Are they still squeezed? If so - You need to check the export setting in RCX. If they look OK - then the issue is 100% Your FCP sequence/clip setting...

Cheers

Peter

Is it worth updating FCS since we are currently working with build 21?

Thanks,

Deanan,

If the L&T acelleration acceleration is accomplished does this mean we could see the RR used within FCP for RT debayering and editing in FCP?
