  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Released: R3D Data Manager for Mac v6.1

We don't work with Red all the time, only on occasion. However, I do get hard drives with other kinds of files (DPX, AVC-Intra etc) coming into the facility all the time and I need a way to move them quickly and with verification. It would be nice if R3D Data Manager had a function to copy and move non-r3d files from one system to another and verify the copy.

Thanks!

We are verifying a release now. We run the program through 10,000 copies of real red footage on our test various platforms before a release. We hope to have it completed in time for the community night at Reducation - which would be another reason to come.

As for that thread, I think the original poster determined it was a hardware issue - he upgraded and the issue went away. We've seen a number of times where the hardware either isnt setup correctly or isnt working perfectly cause issues. As a reference, I just ran 147Tb of camera footage on a real 3D feature for the past 3 months through 6.1, not a single issue. And yes, we watched both eyes individually in real time.

As for other types of footage - it would ironically mean dumbing down the program significantly. We do a lot of red-specific things, that other workflows just cant do. We are getting a lot of requests for it, and will work on that in the new year. File based acquisition is definitely here to stay, and we think this is an important step in the process.

That's great news Conrad.

Thanks for the update. :)

Several posters here are claiming that going back to the 5 release solves issues specifically related to cf cards. Any comment on that?
