  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RELEASED: FIRMWARE - BUILD 16 (v3.1.5)

I have a bad charger that decides to only send DC power to the camera when it chooses, which isn't very often. I had heard of that problem a while ago, but I think it has been fixed since I don't hear about it anymore. I'll be sending mine in to be fixed when i get the chance.

Oh, okay, I can frame the shot and even focus when waiting for the camera to come on...good one. Thanks guys.

What was weirder for me is after I got a successful boot off a battery I went back to the AC/DC adapter and it would not boot. When I say that I mean the LCD lit up so it was receiving power but it just hung there before any text was displayed. Went back to batteries for a while, tried again with the adapter and it finally booted.

Doesn't seem like a connection issue unless RED can receive power but looks for something else on another pin before booting. Weird. And I have seen other people say they've had booting issues.
 
I really miss the feature where you hold down the right LCD button for a few seconds and it turns off the LCD. Can we bring this back eventually? I got a LOT of use out of this. It's more to just keep the camera from causing attention when I'm not using it as opposed to trying to save a little more battery life. I really liked being able to turn off the monitor, it should be an option..
