A new version of Build 15 has been released on www.red.com/support.

Significant changes since Build 15 (v2.1.2):

* Re-enable 4K 2:1 at 23.98 / 24.00 / 25.00 fps REDCODE 36 to CF card.

* Re-enable Focus Assist location / size setup box.

Thanks, BC

In case anyone is wondering here are the max framerate settings i am getting for 2k-

To CF
2k 2:1 Redcode28- 113fps
2k 2:1 Redcode36- 89fps

To RedRaid
2k 2:1 Redcode36- 120fps

Has this update fixed the issues with duplicate reels people have been reporting?

What about the LCD tearing issue?

I really want to try this out but it sounds like its unstable and is very much beta still.

The two issues mentioned above are the two updates from the prior Build 15 that was posted.

if you are scared... dont do it.

Sit it out and wait for the next stable build.

I'm going into my first shoot - two 7-page webisodes - with build 15 v2.1.3.

I keep a CF card with all the builds from stable through betas so I can quickly switch firmware in the field should I need to take a step back. Interestingly, the camera seems to "consume" the archive file stored in the \Update folder during the firmware burn. I keep each build's update directory on the card and copy the one I want to burn to camera to a new \Update directory.

It doesn't seem to do this on SD card, but I usually lock them. I prefer them to CF even if they are a tad slower. It's just nice to know that each has a specific purpose and won't get confused. They're also cheap enough I can keep both a Release build and a Beta build on a separate cards and bounce back as forth as necessary.

The camera intentionally deletes the firmware off the card once it has successfully upgraded.

Any word from RED about the duplicate reel numbering thing? Whether is a firmware bug (certainly not something I noticed when we shot with Build 14) or at least an easier way to deal with it (my experience with the RED Drive was especially problematic as there's no way to force the Reel without formatting and the drive was already partly used).
