  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RELEASED: Beta Build 30 Firmware (v30.6.0)

I wish I had thought to shoot a test before I upgraded, but those images are dramatic indeed; virtually noiseless compared to the previous build.

As to the views, I still miss Rec 709, but I tweaked Redcolor a tiny bit and it looks very good on both my LCD and studio monitor.

Good shooting and best regards,

Leo

Petri, the thing about build 30 that I liked so much was how close the Raw and Redcolor views were. Especially with regards to the histograms. Couldn't say the same about REC709 or RedSpace.

And that's no longer the case? I see... I haven't had a chance to compare them yet, actually. Will do the next power-up.

RAW and REDspace

Shouldn't be the case. Nothing was changed in that regard between 30.5.0 and 30.6.0.

Are your ISO settings the same ?

Stuart, would you care to shed some light on the "speckling"? I'm interested to learn whether it was true sensor noise or some sort of a software glitch. To my eyes it doesn't look like sensor noise at all, more like some issue with wavelet compression.

I'm curious as to why this thread and improvement has not been given more attention. I would've expected the thread to be well into 20 pages by now.

It's the Apollo 13 thing; just as space flight became routine; we're so used to firmware improvements we just load them up without much hoopla.

But, just to make sure we're not seen as ungrateful, hip hip hooray!

Good shooting and best regards,

Leo

Does the noted blue channel improvement have any benefit for those of us with MX sensors?

Thanks.

Stephen

I had no problems after upgrading. Not having put it through a lot of testing, but had it working for more than 4 hours (normal shots, and time-lapse shots) and had no problem at all. As I see it, it's just like Build 30.5.0 (release build) but with the Blue Channel improvement for the M-sensor.

Hope this helps!

Cheers.
