  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDVOLT + REDVOLT travel charger

These configurations will be my weapons of choice... or a belt clip which we have been using sucseesfully.
V locks I can get anywhere in the world when I land and will give me upto 2 hours with the EPIC.
RED VOLT XL's will be a rare as hens teeth for a while.

Mark did you manage to get a wedge somehow? Didnt see them on the store yet.....

Oh no no no... I'm not as fortunate as some.. but I have ordered the backpack and battery holder... but only one at this stage. Vincent Lafoiret had an interesting aftermarket model on his camera that Im curios about. I'll wait to I hear more about that one before I order to many more...

Mark,

Have you been using the DSMC shoulder pad with a 15mm lightweight rod setup + MB and hand grips of some sort? Curious how that works as a quick handheld solution.

How comfortable is that pad? As I recall from NAB, it seemed a bit rigid.

Also it seems like it would help to hang a battery off the back of the pad to get some the weight over the back of your shoulder. Wondering how the same back pad set up would work from the clutch with a battery plate.

Thoughts?

Sorry Mark, I don't have the pad.. or that setup.. These were shots that Jarred posted of the back pack system.

I don't shoulder mount anymore or use rods or matt boxes.. I'm keeping my cameras very simple, light and fast.. I just lift to my eye and shoot.
I've gone way past having big camera setups, have done that for most of my career.. It's time for me to be more creative with less restrictions.

Just did a huge job in Bombay completely hand held except for some locked off effects shots. I got 5 days of shooting into 3. Only because the camera is small, powerful and easy to use.

But if I was to shoulder mount.. those options Jarred sent through will be the way I go.

Travel charger lands in the store tomorrow :)

I've decided to purchase about 12 RED volts per camera and never go big and bulky again. (unless I have a shot that will run for an hour)

With a 7 sec camera boot time... I think I can live with the down time :)

I'm right there with you. I'd love to just have REDvolts and REDvolt XLs, except I need to know if the Pro Battery Module will have a d-tap/p-tap connection. Without that there's no way to power accessories.

Travel charger is in the store but my Bomb squad rep told me it might not affect the one I have in backorder for my Epic-M, weird, isn't it?
I thought all Epic-M owners will have their batteries and chargers before it's in the store...
