  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDVOLT + REDVOLT travel charger

Heh Heh heh. There is some very cool stuff you can do when you guys get your REDVOLTS.

For example.. you can hotswap between the back power port and the side handle. So if you are using a side handle battery and it gets low, and you don't want to power down or stop recording to swap batteries, you can plug in the AC adapter or RED BRICK into the back port and it will automatically switch over to that power source. without interuption.. the LCD will display the switch over, then you can change the dead REDVOLT in the side handle with a new one, and then unplug the power from the pack and keep running around.

Super cool!!!!

As Jarred said, DSMC travel chargers are still on backorder. So, if you are an EPIC-M owner and have not gotten your REDVOLTS, it is the travel charger holding it up, not the REDVOLTS themselves. If you have a charger already, we wanted to make sure you could get your hands on more REDVOLTS...

I ordered Redvolts even though I haven't received my charger yet. I knew I wanted more so why not get them while they're in stock.

It sounds like chargers are only a couple of weeks away.

Any tech info on the terminals on the Redvolts? Is it just a main series output or individual cell connections? I charge lithium cells for my hobby all the time (my wife thinks charging batteries IS the hobby!) so I'm over equipped to charge and maintain properly, travel charger or not... Will soon see as I've ordered a bunch anyway :) Sure my EPIC-M set will turn up soon anyhow.

Ketch I know you have experience now with the Redvolts; are you seeing different running time depending on whether you're recording or just in stand-by? I'm figuring 8 per camera just on guesswork alone... is that your thought too?

We have seen up to 30 minutes, and as low as 14 minutes, it all depends on resolution, speed, amount of equipment on camera, weather, meaning hot or cold, and we have been in all of it.

For this I was extremely happy that now are in Stock, so we will be traveling with 16 of them, an absolutely fantastic way to shoot super light weight and on the go,
once the battery Pro modules ships, then we will have the best of both worlds... ;)

One thing is that after shooting EPIC all over the place with V local batteries, was a true relief using the REDVOLTS, just open th side handle pop one in and go, stick an other one or two in your pocket and go!!
