REDUSER Party/Workflow Event Recap

Guys hate to be pushy about this, but I really need to know the name of the company that was showing off their LCD at the REDparty.. Please inform A.S.A.P.

I need one of those things.
Jay

Jay look at post #30, immediately below your first request.

I was really impressed with the exponential growth in the number of people from last year's RED party. I just wish I could have had the time to meet some more people there. I guess next time we should wear our NAB name tags.
Thanks Steve for setting up such an awesome event, and Ketch for topping it off so nicely.

I was really impressed by the exponential decrease in representatives from the actual company.

At least we got Nattress and the Red Ninjas. That wide-angle Nikon lens was bitchin' .

Yeah it was truly puzzling to me that Graeme was the only person from Red to spend any real time there. I thought that Red would want to party with us all. Guess not. But thanks to Graeme for joining us!

I thought Stuart English was there? I know he was at the workflow event towards the end. It was also cool Ted stopped by to announce the Log and Transfer plug-in was available.

It was a reduser event, not an official RED event after all.

Graeme seems much taller when he posts.:)

Nice to see the Birger mount in action.

Negatives....Rabbit food and Gin don't mix. I had to leave before the raffle because my stomach was acting up. If Aquavideo won anything, I claim half, hehehe.

I forgot to check... (zeke gave me a raffle ticket) ... any unclaimed prizes Steve?

It was a great event and I really appreciate all of Steve's efforts to make it happen - thanks for inviting me.

And it was great to see birger mount in action - super smooth focus like we all hoped. This is a revolutionary product. Our previous best scenario was a high def camera with a $25K Fujinon or Canon B4 style lens - now we get the same optical quality with a $700 canon still lens and RED 4K quality to boot.

All the prizes were claimed. Half went to the same person, who by the way, also won at the FCP Users group raffle. Who is that lucky guy?

Great to have you there Michael.

Heya,
great meeting many of you - wish I had had more time to spend and less commitments that evening (although I did come back late in time to see the party closing team doing there job for another 40 minutes or so....) Great presentations and info on all fronts.

options.

It was great meeting you and thanks again. very generous

As I told you that night feel free to sell or trade it. Just wanted to post it here so people would know from the source it is OK and legit.

And if was fun meeting you. (Of course the easiest solution is to go get certified to scuba dive - 3/4 of the world is down there.)

Take care,
Mike

After a day on the show floor, and getting up early to be ready for the next day, it's pretty hard work to make an evening event! I saw Ted, Kevin and Stuart there. A few more RED people made an appearance later on too. I had time to do a personal REDCINE tutorial with someone who I've forgotten the name of. It's the sort of thing I've have enjoyed being more part of, but time / tiredness constraints limited me somewhat.

Graeme

Yeah, Kevin the "Flowmaster" workflow guru from Red was there at the party as well. Good guy.

I've been an exhibitor at trade shows before, and I'll bet the Red people were pretty wiped out. It was nice that Graeme, Ted, Stuart and Kevin were able to make it.

The party itself was a great success; what a fantastic opportunity to meet so many people in the Red community, as well as check out the evolving vendor offerings. Even the bartenders were impressed; they remarked to me at how unusual our energy and passion are, and how genuine and friendly everyone in our group is. They see all kinds of events, and their perspective is a good one.

Yes, pretty much wiped out....

Graeme

Well Jeff, I'm sorry for you that you didn't get to stay and sample the Tirami Su', if "Forty Pounds" of it were gone in less then an hour, then I know it had to come out good, but it was still nice to see you again and say HI.

Thank you Elizabeth for the compliment, and it was nice to get to me you as well, even so the event was so succesfully organized by Steve and company that there were so many people it was impossible to say HI to all.

It was also a great Pleasure to say Hi again to Steve Gibby and his wonderful BETTER half.

Steve see you soon in Boston, and Mark see you soon in NY, love to see you at your new HOFFHOLLYWOOD.

Again great event and full of great people.

Ciao

Ketch,

I have tasted Tirami Su at some of the finest restaurants in both the US and in Italy. I traveled around the US years ago shooting restaurants for a while for the Food Network, mainly because I'm a huge fan of the culinary arts. Anytime the opportunity came when I can have some Tirami Su, I jumped on it! There are only a handful of places that actually make it perfect to everyones liking. Yours my friend is definitely one of the top 2 (I just bumped my favorite off the list) ever tasted. Presentation, I must admit was a bit different than any 5 star dining, but the texture and taste was incredible!!
It was the perfect end to an excellent get together that evening.

Now, put your camera down and get back in the kitchen!

Mille Grazie,

Thank you my friend, your compliments are much appreciated, as I do still very much love and enjoy cooking, I'm in the process of reopening a small restaurant in Lake Elsinore were I'm currently residing, and will open few more, both in Italy and Dubai, next year, but even so I could never part from the Restaurant life and I have been offered more then once to do a TV Cooking Show, I have always turn them down as I do want to make my self known as a Filmmaker and an Actor for Feature films and not as cook in TV.

It was a great pleasure seen the faces of all of you sampling my Tirami Su' and moments like those make it hard to part from the Culinary arts, but it is time for me to see the faces of people after they have sampled my Films!

Thanks again for your very kind words and ... PREGO!

Ciao

Honored for the invite Steve!

Honored for the invite Steve!

Sure was great to meet many of you all! Especially fun to meet the folks whose footage I've been working with for Mammoth HD. Jay, Kelly et all... keep on making those images RED shooters... I need to fill my intense desire to help make this new form of imagery take over!

I meant what I said... I'm never shooting video again... with all of your help, I'll be able to stick to that pledge.

I don't know if you've all heard, but the NAB theatre told Clark D that the RED reel we did was the best looking entry into the show. They actually played the entire reel every hour or so I hear on Thursday. That bodes very well for the rebellion I'd think.
