5-8PM: RED Workflow Event

Guest speakers will discuss workflow solutions, both current and ones in the works. There will be some hands on demonstrations, as well as some general discussion about best practices covering small indy shops all the way up through the high end pipeline.

There will also be an opportunity for an open discussion, allowing everyone there to jump into the mix. The event will be moderated by Steve Sherrick and should be a good chance for all of us to learn a little something about what happens to RED footage once it leaves the camera.

8PM - 2AM: REDUSER Party

After the workflow event we will transform the suite into a big party. There will be food and drinks, as well as some cool stuff going on. We will have vendors there who will be showing you many ways to accessorize/modify your RED. There will be a raffle where you can win RED related products. And there may be few surprises thrown in at the last moment. Should be a fun time, and will be a good opportunity to get to know fellow REDUSERS.

RSVPs will end Friday March 21st at 11:59PM. Please send an email to: nabparty@reduser.net if you haven't already.

If you are on the guest list, you will receive an official invitation with room details, etc in the next couple of weeks.

if only I have read it that thread before... I was to concentrate to unpack and film with my red.... .
This year I was planing to come for the first time on NAb (is not around the corner from Venice in italy.. ) and I really loved to be at this event.... after almost 1 and half year from my camera reservation...
But I guess is late..

Many of you have contacted me after the RSVP period ended and asked if you could still get in. We are at max capacity in terms of providing food and drink tickets for people, but what we have opted to do, so that hopefully no one gets left out of this party is to offer a compromise.

People who have RSVP'd will be able to attend the workflow event, receive drink ticket/raffle ticket, and get first dibs on food. Then at 9PM, we will open the party to everyone else. All that I ask is that if you are not on the RSVP list, please do not show up before then. We won't be able to let you in. It will keep things from getting confusing.

I hope this is a fair compromise. There will still be plenty to take in after 9PM. There will be vendors showing you how to trick out your RED, and there will be a cash bar. Plus, I'm sure the party will go strong until pretty late, so you'll have a good opportunity to chat it up with fellow REDUSERS.

Tickets for REDUSER Party will be going out tonight. Check your email. If there's nothing in it by Midnight tonight (EST), then send me an email. If for some reason you have left already for NAB or don't get a ticket for whatever reason, the people doing checkin will have a guest list and can verify you are on it at the door.

The room at the Westin is on the first floor and is called Mesquite (3,4, and 5 have been opened up into one big room for this).

The raffle is going to make you guys really happy, especially as you continue to accessorize your camera. We're not going to be giving away $2 scratch tickets. We're talking real gear, for your RED camera. The vendors that will be at the event have really stepped up and made this raffle something special.

The workflow event is set. 10 guest speakers and additional panel members who will interact with audience at the end to open up a general discussion about workflow. Also, I'm sure any new news that happens before the event will be incorporated.

There may be some surprise guests attending too. Who knows. All I can say is that it's going to be a good time.

Originally, when this was going to be at The Palazzo, there was a terrace, which was going to be very cool. But the event grew, and we needed a bigger room, so we have traded atmosphere for getting more people in. Having said that, there are many places to light up a stogie, and if you catch it on RED by Tuesday night, I will make sure we throw it up on the screen at some point during the night.

Speaking of which, if anyone has something they want to show in terms of footage, we'll have the projector and screen setup all night. It won't be 4K projection, but still could be fun.
