RedUser party at NAB 2014?

Its January so some redusers have been talking about NAB plans. The topic of parties came up so did the important question is RED/RedUser having a party? If so when will info be out?

RED should sponsor a poker tournament for charity at NAB and give away a few early slots for Dragon!

What do you guys think? Good idea? Obviously nothing would be free and the upgrade would still cost the $9.5k, but it would be fun to be able to win a chance to get a Dragon early no?

The big party will be in a couple of years when RED hits the decade mark.

Amazing how quickly time has passed since that announcement in 2006.

Not looking good for me to get to Vegas this year, but hopefully it's a lot of fun for everyone who is able to make it. This will be my third straight miss.

I think RED should sponsor something like that, but I wouldn't expect anything like the early slots for Dragon. Maybe the winner could get some sort of perk. Everyone else could get a little something for participating.

I miss the All In Film poker tournament. That was a lot of fun a few years back at the Planet Hollywood. They had some nice sponsors ranging from Canon to Zacuto and each company sent a participating player sponsor who held a prize envelope. If you eliminated them from the game, you got their prize. I got a bit greedy at one point and went to eliminate a sponsor. So did someone else at the table and both the sponsor and I were then out. Oh well. It was still a hoot and I'd do it again in an instant.

The All In Film tournament gave out Oakley Gas Can sunglasses as a favor for participating and if I recall they still raised well over $10K for whatever the charity was that night.


As for me making NAB this year, it's not looking good. I posted in the NAB thread that I should be there, but now only a few hours later it seems I may have a conflict.
