AKA Geekout on camera talk. If you're in the city come join us at GMD Three's studio Chinatown in Manhattan, in the evening, around 7 PM.
The studio is at 120 Walker Street, Unit 6R, New York, NY

NOTE: We've had a few questions regarding gear - you do not have to bring your cameras. We're just hanging out, talking about the industry, projects we've done, etc. A meet & greet and hang out in general.

I'll try to make this one.

Hopefully I can make it this time.

Hey this has nothing to do with meeting up, but was curious if I could rent anyone's vmount battery adaptor plate for tomorrow to tuesday who live in NYC?

You may get a better response if you start your own thread with the topic of needing to rent. If people already saw this thread and they're not interested in the topic it's unlikely as many eyes will see your post here than if you started a new one.

Two more days! I'll bring an Area 48 Soft LED panel, I believe Ketch will be arranging another group sale for these very soon. I'll also bring a Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 in Canon mount.

Looking forward to see you guys, I hope everybody can make it.

Arthur,

Speaking of the right thread - guess this was originally posted in the Scarlet / DSMC section....
I'm on REDUser nearly every day but missed your posting.

There is an entire portion of REDUser that is dedicated to user groups and meetings just like the one you are putting together:

http://www.reduser.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?12-USA-East

or, scroll to the lower portion of the REDUser home page - a section there slices the globe into reasonable areas.

I'm in the city enough where I can occasionally move my travel around. Would have been great to know of this meeting.
If Michael managed to bring his Area 48 fixtures, I could have brought a Trucolor HS or LS so we could have done a side-by-side comparison....
(Just one item on my bucket list)

Let me know directly when another is organized - would have enjoyed meeting all!

Regrets at not being able to attend.

I was saying was that asking for help/borrow/rental on a different related topic might not be seen by a lot of people. I didn't mean for it to come off as offensive if you took it that way.

Regarding posting to the right forum, for previous meetups, this was a 'scarlet' meetup that has been posted in this particular forum where a few of us have met and hung out before, but a few people have upgraded to either the Epic or the Scarlet Dragon, so I changed the name to reduser meetup to not be exclusively scarlet :wink5: Good to know there's another section, I'm usually only in a few and never look at the others

No offense taken - I fully agreed with the post you made responding to the battery request. Definitely off topic.
When I read the thread, I just took the setup you provided to insert a bit of humor at your expense. It was in jest and I hope you did not likewise take offense.

I run into the same situation - never have time to even glance at many of the forum sections. There is a need to sleep now and then. As background, while I started with the R1 and moved directly to EPIC when it became available, I did buy a Scarlet as a backup body. Still own all three. So, while I do officially own a Scarlet, I don't go into that section often - actually caught wind of the meeting by looking under the recent posts tab.

Let me know via PM when you begin planning for another meet - if I can fit it into the schedule, I'll be there.

Cheers!

No prob. At this rate it's been once every 4-5 months since the scarlet was released. so we're probably due for one right after the holiday season

Had a BLAST as usual, a big thanks to our generous host, James "G" @ GMD Studios and Arthur for getting it started. It was a pleasure meeting everyone, it really made the evening a very informative and entertaining one!
