  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDUSER NAB 2009 - The Official Thread

Not having any actual prototypes to showcase at NAB would have backfire in my opinion.

Next year is going to be different. Both Scarlet and Epic will be out and well established by NAB'10.
Hi Peter,

Thanks for your post.... I agree completely and was just looking forward to the future. :) With no working product, it probably would have been a slip to exhibit this year... but with everything in full swing next year, I think it would be a terrible mistake to write the convention off and not be able to show people physical product that they can explore, learn about, and get firsthand information from.

I think a two-event system would be best as well... like I stated, I think there are two different audiences being targeted here and those who are "in the know" are probably looking for different information than someone who still is unsure of RED or just hasn't used the product before. I don't know if two separate events during all the chaos that is NAB is realistic for the team, but I've certainly learned never to doubt them. I just didn't want the great time that we all had to cloud our judgement... I think Scarlet and Epic is a massive unveiling and RED's presence shouldn't be missed where one of the biggest spotlights is waiting to highlight them.

I'm interested to see what goes on at these AJA parties. All I know is the Voodoo Lounge on top of the Rio seemed to be the place. Ran into quite a few Redusers along with some Red reps. Sean is way different when he's not working...in a good way.

I took one for the team and missed the AJA party on Tuesday night to do last minute prep for the Reduser event. So, it's still a mystery to me as well. Sounds like a good time though. The AJA people are very cool, that much I know.

I didn't get a chance to thank you Steve but you did an awesome job this year on the event. Seems like you have uncaged the monster. Maybe next year we can have a somewhat official Reduser after party. The Voodoo Lounge on top of the Rio was kind of cool and it had an awesome view. Of course I would only say have the party there if the event happens at the Rio again.

Thanks. I did make it to the Voodoo Lounge after the Reduser event and it's a cool place to party.

The Aja party i dont know...but the RedUsers was very usefull...some networking, some news...the Glasses and some fun, at least... let's shot some samba down here the next RED event should be in Brazil to check how the colors are resolved by the RPP:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::hurray:

I suggest moving next year's REDUser Event to a hotel closer to the convention, but at least on the Vegas strip. That way, it is still convenient for people to get back and forth on the MonoRail system.

As for an after party. That would be a great time, I'm sure. I'd volunteer to help organize it.

Steve,

Great event, and timing with the lingerie show. It was like having cheerleaders before a lakers game:)

Yeah I didn't think that was an accident.

Just so everyone knows, it took a lot of effort to coordinate the Lingerie show to coincide with the Reduser Event. I try my best to keep everyone happy.

And yet you forgot the final critical piece of having a contingent of models on stage for the "workflow" session and inside the Red tent for a...sharpness or something. :sifone:

There needs to be a careful balance there or we might not hear anything said to us.

Exploring this option for next year. I think having models on stage would be a lot more entertaining than having me on stage.

Now, I didn't get a chance to view the Red Primes, but my guess is that they are so good that models will actually shy away from that part of the show as the lenses will resolve way too much detail. Just a guess, I could be wrong.

Yeah, that's right. Thanks for refreshing my memory. I'm glad you guys hung out with us. That corner had the best view

You were crazy that night man. It was a lot of fun and we might have to do it again next year.
