In the last 48 hours or so, I figured something out. Some of the newer folks here on REDuser think of this site as Facebook for RED fans. It's not. It functions differently; it has a different purpose. Resist the urge to post every thought and emotion you have about RED! There actually are Facebook groups for that stuff. Or use Twitter. Please, it's really hard to slog through a forum when it's all fluff. :furious3:

Terry's post is in dire need of a LIKE button.

Damn, Jay beat me to it :)

Imagine what kind of common folk posts would be here if Scarlet was $6K complete. Gives me the creeps just thinking about it

I love the RSS version of Recon. Jim and Jarred only. No comments, no attaboys or yee-haws. I appreciate the enthusiasm for great hardware, sometimes all I want is the info straight from the source.

Out of curiosity, I clicked the RSS button in Safari's URL field; bookmarked that, and when something new turns up, my menu bar for video info has a number in it. That's not to say that I don't read the user comments once in awhile. ;-)

Hm, how about this for a feature: Comment authors and/or readers can tag their comments as tech info, opinion, wish list, fanboy, yee-haw? The readers can filter by what they want to see.

Damn, I hope you're joking. This is EXACTLY what peoples on other forums were saying (and still doing on some extent) about red users when the RED One first came out.

I once read a comment on a Creatve Cow thread that Reduser.net has the lowest signal to noise ratio of any forum in the industry....

+1

I hope this place can revert to where it was a couple of weeks ago, seems to be a huge amount of noise around here of late. I hope the mods can offer some advice.....

The Scarlet page is full of the people you are referring to...

But give them a little slack, they are excited and nervous.

The place'll settle down. The camers are set - for now - and the low budget kids'll either get tired of complaining and go find another sandbox or figure out this is a great place to learn about cameras, lenses, all of it, and up their respect some. I won't be buying soon, but I'm scanning the threads every day. Great free info, you guys should be charging. Pardon me while I mooch facts about vignetting...

And I was about to start a Farmville thread Mr Buzzkill.

The problem is to many people start new threads with questions already asked, or really simple to search an answer for, certainly with al the scarlet questions now... search, read, think first before asking everything...

It will settle...I hope.
