  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Reduser iPhone App!!

Lol who is voting 1 star for this thread? Damn Blackberry users... hahahahahaha.

Why make it just RED? If it loads up UBB threads based boards you should make an app that loads up any UBB board a user selects- like DVXuser, 2-pop, etc. Then you could sell it...

It's a little difficult do make a generic solution as right now it's scraping the pages for content - the UBB admin could modify their site's markup and consequently the scraper would not properly find the correct elements.

If one were really ambitious, he would make it so that the app parses the DOM tree and allows the user to configure which items are posts/threads/etc. But I, for one, don't feel like doing that

I did when it first came up and then you can't change your rating. "Changing Votes is not allowed".

I gave it 1* because the original post was a trick headline and deserved 1*.

Lol I have had that happen before myself, Gavin.

For me to buy something like this it would have to be able to use push notifications when someone on my selectable user list posts something or if a subscribed thread was updated or someone quoted me or answered a post. That would be totally awesome.

Hope you've already started on the iPad version...

Isn't the website the iPad version?

Yeah, that's my opinion as well. Granted, push notification support and the like would be nice to have (especially the suggestions given above), but I imagine the regular website isn't as painful to use on the iPad. Granted, I've never used one, though, so my opinion is based purely off of images from the web, playing around with the simulator, and adjusting for the RDF constant.

No it's true, it's pretty good on the iPad (im on it now). But nothing beats a beautiful native app.
