Hi,

I'm trying to retrieve r3d files from an external drive through Redundead. I think i've followed the steps correctly, but I'm getting Error: read of size 0x18200 failed at offset 0x8000 (22). after I type in my password. Can anyone assist me please?

The drive was used out on the field as extra capacity for an OS update and subsequently hid 3.85TB of footage in a - data folder partition. I've used Diskdrill to try and retrieve the hidden files, but the recovery r3d files aren't working in Premiere Pro.

Following this. I'm getting a similar error. I'm trying to recover files off a mini mag and I have set the destination to be an external hard drive since I don't have 500GB of space on my computer's internal drive. Context: this camera experienced a 3-4 foot drop onto grass/dirt. The mini mag popped out. The files play just fine when I play them back in camera and on the red player on my computer, but they won't copy to a drive and when I try to do that. When I try to copy them to a drive it either crashes my finder, crashes my computer, or gives me an error saying the files can't be read/write.

Here is my error on REDundead though:

Shauns-MBP:~ shaunwolfe$ sudo redundead /dev/rdisk2 /Volumes/JABBA2/RECOVER\ DAY\ 1

Hey Liam, I think I have found the issue with mine after a few incredibly stressful nights in the field without a ton of back up parts...

Turns out it was the card reader that was my issue. I tried a friend's card reader today on the same mini mags and they transferred to a hard drive just fine and play back normally. A big sign of relief on my end as I thought it could have been internal damage to the camera. Hope it is the same for you!
