out of interest, one of those images has a bunch of canvases in a row. Are you going into Stills methodology now too?

Im definitely up for some more REDucation, the Master Classes sound great. Id like to second a request for them to be organised back to back so that I only need make one 16 hour flight!

michael cioni has posted a great video of the reducation community day on:

www.DigitalCinemaLessons.com

I have yet to make it to a reducation event myself, but our four staff members who have been all have AMAZING things to say about their weeks spent down there. We are sending two more staff to the next event actually, as these really are the best way to get the hands-on education you need.

Anyways, check out Michael's video of community day. It's pretty cool.....

The next REDucation is gearing up now for the first week of Dec. - Preperations for the 4k projection, RED Rocket™, all the camera gear, etc are coming together well again.

I'll be starting on my overdue intl. traveling schedule again if I'm cleared by my docs for travel, so Michael and Steve will be running the bulk of the class just like in the Nov class that we got great feedback on. I will particpate with some videos we've shot recently and perhaps a video chat if all goes well with the bandwidth between LA and China.

For anyone reading this and all your friends interested in learning more about RED, the next community day at REDucation is shaping up nicely as well - we will have a full plate of companies that support RED production and post on Dec 7th at the LA Center Studios, so come and spend the day with a bunch of like minded folks learning about RED.

There was a November course?

Ted, any plans for classes beyond December? We were really hoping to jump into the November courses but I was told they were canceled in favor of HD Expo.

There was an Oct. course - we decided to cancel the Nov. course since we had an Oct. and Dec. course and it was just too much to close together, the staff needs to re-group between each for these first courses to properly plan for the next one, as the goal is to improve the class each time and learn how to make it better from student feedback as well as our own observations.

Who told you the Nov. class was cancelled due to HD Expo? - that is not correct info.

We will be doing more REDucation classes next year - starting the early preparations for that now, and we are starting to prepare to roll out in other USA cities and worldwide classes, as well as the master classes. Lot's cooking on the REDucation front.

I think the info came from the office number. They mentioned the overlapping schedule with the expo and that efforts had to be put towards that event. They were very nice though and sent a packet of information if that helps.

Anyway, glad to hear there are future options. Looking forward to those opportunities. We may still be able to do one portion in dec, so we'll see.

Exciting stuff, Im definitely in for the master classes. (depending on the dates)

Any plans for a middle east location? I know its probably the least likely!

yeah we went to the first REDucation. Mainly we went to the Community Day and sat in on a couple of the lectures. (which for me were amazing) But the kids (ages 14-18) who we teach in the Red , most of the tech talk went over their heads. But good to be prepared for what they will get themselves into the next time around.

We can explore any part of the world where there is interest in holding these classes and the proper resources are available to teach (Proper projection and classroom/soundstage space, etc.) If there is an easy way for people to let us know that they would be interested in us holding classes in a particular region, and the kind of student numbers we would expect to have in the class, we can plan accordingly.

Regarding the extensive training materials, they are for the students that took the class - not to be re-distributed, as they are supporting material for the course, and would not be of proper value outside of the course.
