  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Regarding Tim's question about the 2Day classes running all the the same time - that's not a typo. The new class structure we are experimenting with is to have the main class for 3 Days, and then a "choose your adventure" 2 day tag on class right after. You pick the track you are most interested in and take that. So if you want to take all 3 of those, you would take one during this run of the class, and then just sign up for the other 2 day class on the next run, etc.

If you have already taken REDucation, you can just take one of the 2 day classes to focus more on the part of the biz you want to specialize in, and learn more about

You are also welcome to just take one of the 2 day tracks on it's own, but it's recommended that you have some experience or prior knowledge in that area before you take just the 2 day classes, as they will do a bit of overview, but dive pretty quickly into advanced learning and hands on training.

on the other questions:

yes if you are on crutches you will be fine... part of the class is running around the lot shooting, part is in our soundstage which we turn into a classroom.

we will likely run the courses once per quarter and keep looking at other ways to expand as the demand and desire to learn from the market presents itself

we are also working on other forms of training - we have the first 2 of our "best of REDucation" videos on our website now with the other learn videos. Check those out when you have some time. If you are interested in more of those on specific topics, let me know and we can work on that.

and yes on my voice recovery program from NAB :-) I have engaged a specialist in beverly hills that works with Charlie Sheen, Mel Gibson and others to help them recover from opening our big mouths and saying things they shouldn't... so far it's not working to well for any of us - in my case it's a terrible case of saying the same stuff over and over again till I loose my voice and my mind :-)

Went to http://www.red.com/learn
and hit the link for project workflow and exposing, both come up with "video not found or access denied: uploads/video.mp4"

given at first it says "playlist could not be loaded due to crossdomain policy"

is that just me or is anyone else experiencing it?
 
Yes, it happened to me too but after a few trials it worked. Try reloading the page. Or just click on other videos and the one you want to watch a number of times but eventually it does play.
 
Darn. This sounds amazing, but it's one week after I get married. Hopefully there will be another in December like in years past.
Whenever/if this is finalized, guys please post a link to signup for later one and I will gladly throw my hat in.
I desperately want to do Reducation this year, just can't make these dates :(

Thanks Ted. I guess that makes sense. I was just thinking in the interst of scheduling in time (and travel expenses) it would be great to take 2 of the 2 day classes since I indeed have finished Reducation.

i.e I wanted to take Post and 3D in the same week... so thats not possible.

Any idea how far apart these sessions will be ? thanks!

Ted, you just made my day. :-)

The classes are awesome and I'll come as soon as possible.
BUT I would love having the full REDucation classes online or on DVD for further reference.

They don't need to be free ! Charge as much as you need. I would be more than happy to buy them. :-)

Any word of how long before the scheduled dates these classes fill up? I'd really like to be able to keep this in mind
 
Please, give four or five camera men the opportunity to come to the event free and get them to film it. Then get someone else to edit it and put it on a server and pay per view.
 
Hey Chris,

I used to live over there. The Roosevelt is about the same distance from Red as the W is, and it's $200 per night. Still really nice.
There are some others between $100-200 as well ... you can almost get away with not renting a car since
there's so much food and Red Hollywood isn't that far away, but will have a nice morning walk.

Thanks, Man. Roosevelt sounds perfect. I've got a buddy in LA so I might rent a car anyway. I was bummed that I had to miss last December's, so really looking forward to this AND seeing Epic/Scarlet! Makes me wanna bring my Panchros.... heh.

I was thinking the same thing. It would have been nice to be able to take the addition classes, since I have also completed the REDucation #003 class back in December 09 and it would have been nice, since traveling from the UK, to do some of the other modules in one go - for expenses reasons alone. Either that, or a Europe REDucation at Pinewood? :-)

Would love to go to the REDucation classes, but not possible with a very pregnant wife. Looking forward to going to one later this year and also looking forward to seeing more of the "Best of REDucation" videos posted!
 
Any chance of an east coast class in the future? I know home base with everything you need it out in LA but I would jump on a NY or Philly area class in a minute.
