  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDucation 2013 is Gearing up.

Oh, and by the way, REDucation has also upgraded our lens choices. This class, along with the RED Pro Primes and Zooms, we will have access to Angenieux Zooms, Canon Zooms, Schneider Primes, and Hawk V-Plus Anamorphic Primes and Zooms. Who want's to shoot a short on those Hawk's???

Hi there, sorry to push this but I want to know which newsletter I should register to or whom to ask to get Mail-updates about possible reducation events in Europe in (near?) future -> England would be fine for me (didn't make the february dates due to a busy schedule sadly)... Is the "global" red.com/learn-newsletter good for this or would it be a different one?

thanks! :)

What are the main differences in the experiences in the different options for the day 4/5 optional classes for the NYC class?

another question (maybe asked before);
if I bring my own camera -> will it be possible to get access to an RED FOCUS or other tools to get the flange-depth checked/calibrated?

edit: would it also be possible to get the redmote-range checked there (antenna issues)?

edit2: all my questions relate to the UK one!

thanks! :)

Thanks to the whole REDucation team for allowing me to help out in the booth during NAB. I had a blast helping with the classes, talking to customers and answering questions. My inner RED geek got a total workout. Special thanks to Ted and Brian for the opportunity, and to Clyde for allowing me to be his assistant. And thanks to Ivan, Justin, Beth, Tonaci, John, Jeroen, Casey, Jeff and everyone else I got to hang with...best NAB ever!

Thanks to everyone for helping - we had full classes up until the final NAB bell for our one hour REDucation session. The full week classes in NY and London at now open for enrollment as is the next session of REDucation-X

Our friend Vincent (and a lot of other folks as well) have been talking a lot about the MoVi. it's pretty impressive, and Vincent has featured it in his blog, as well as mentioning that we will have it with us for our NYC REDucation class in May. should be a nice addition to all the EPICs and 4k projection in the class!

Wow, exciting, Ted!

I just want to add that those of you who have yet to attend a REDucation really should consider it. It is a refreshing approach to learning with tons of hands on opportunities, a fantastic group of teachers, and always fun surprises. The last LA class got to work with HAWK anamorphic glass as well as got a sneak preview of the Meizler module. Another past class, an Octocopter took flight. And this time around, as Ted mentioned, the impressive MoVI camera stabilization system will be in use during the classes.

We have some pretty cool stuff happening for the RED open house in NYC tomorrow night at the theater in the city - We will be screening a selection of RED shot short films in 4k, and screening a first look of the Movi shoot that Vincent LaForet and I did with a very small crew at a Mansion in the Hollywood hills, shot with the special IR EPIC in 5k and showing in 4k (it's really special stuff, worth checking out if you are in NYC tomorrow night.) and there will some other goodies and 4k fun, including seeing the latest sizzle reel of all the big Hollywood movies shot on EPIC, and our latest 4k reel of EPIC footage collected from RED shooters all over the planet. (and I've heard a rumor that Vincent and the Movi team will be there with the Movi to show it off in person, that would be super cool :-)

Brian will put up the details of the event and the location of the theater so anyone that wants to come can get the info.

See you tomorrow night!

Hello Ted,

I was looking at the UK REDucation classes in September and I will be registering to attend. I noticed that it is missing the two additional days at the end of the initial three days which I see in the New York classes but not available in the UK sessions. Will they be added on or they will just not be available at all ? Point it I quite time challenged and see this as an opportunity to soak in all I can about RED in the quickly at one sitting and the more day to learn the more things I will take away.

Thanks, Oje

I just returned from REDucation 2013 in New York. It was different but even *better* than last year's event!

Excellent insights from the best instructors, starting with the ultimate authority, Ted Red...

We had use of the best equipment---including time with the amazing Freefly Movi ---and we watched 4k footage on our privatel "IMAX" theater

And of course "cinema quality" meals and craft services...

If you have a chance to attend Reducation in the future , definitely do it!

Thanks again to TedRed, Brian Henderson, Brian Clark, the Diamond Brothers and all the other amazing instructors...
