  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

i edited just with the proxies in fcp.

i edited something like
a_b_a_c_a

footage is 4k@2:1
proxies are in the same folder
red trip generates the xml.
redcine can launch the redcine xml.
used it with handles.



but then there are blue offline shots in the viewer, some black shots in the timeline...

the strange thing is, after quitting redcine and reopening other shots turn blue or black, its random, but then after a couple of quitting and reopening i had the desired timeline...all shots were ok.

but then redcine seemed to crash at the render process

Interesting, if its reading your .Redcine.XML then I'm thinking the problem is out of my hands?? In any case send me all of your files K. Including a .rcn.

Zip files work great (no one's told Rainer he can upload zips:weight_lift: :bleh: )

take a walk on the wild side. Ibloom you kick ass. This thing is very simple and seems to work very well. I am testing it on simple things and it works great. One way I will use it will be on film shoots. The director or whoever can call print and we will put the proxy on the timeline, then when we have down time, or at the end of the day export the xml and render the one light. Works perfect for that, plus the editor can just cut with these files and not worry about the conform as we can render the final color with the same names and re-link.

The only thing I can not get to work (which would rock for this 45 min tv show we are finishing in a few weeks) is the handles. But this is sooooooo easy.

Hey just FYI, the handles problem (which is really the duplicate clip problem) has a solution. I'll be posting a new version this weekend, unfortunately it's a three droplet process.

Ok RedTrip0.5.9 is up. Still Alpha friends... but... I used it today to successfully online a short film with a multi-tracked timeline that mixed Redcode proxies with other formats and text.

It's a two step process now, because I am unable to reliably predict the Event # generated by Redcine. So I use the second step to assign the Event # based on an xml file that you export from Redcine. This sucks a little but is probably better anyways since you answer questions now in the proper order.:shifty: Read the new instructions carefully.

FYI, 0.5.9 is not the subject of Offhollywood's recent intelligence gathering efforts. I've been developing this concurrently with something new.:sorcerer:

First two people who run a full test on this build, sends me all generated files, all Terminal contents and the result of opening the terminal and typing:
ls -altR /Your/Redcine/OutputPath/*,
all as text files and xml files in a ZIP file, Gets the PM surprise.

ok, newest build didnt create redcine.xml

asks just for camera generatedfiles /or custom....
and if i want to use handles.

renamed redtrip.pyc to redtrip.py ( worked last time)----no joy
 
live update:

redtrip created redcine.xml

but step 1 asked again just 2 questions...

camera generated files... and
use handles...

now going into redcine

name is greenscreen_daylight.r3d instead of A0......



FCP timeline was A-B-C

Kaya, use substitution method "_M.mov" :weight_lift:

Your doing great, but truth is I really need a test of a real project.
Three clips all .R3D that's easy.:wink:

joy worked...
ok redtrip step 1 doesnt ask for paths etc.
step2 works great

its 2:30 in the morning.

you`ll get a real project---this are tiny steps.
tomorrow i will through in 50 .r3d files and some weird files under pressure.
last time i had some issues with this footage,

Step 1 doesn't need paths. That's just to get you into Redcine. Paths and info are needed to get you back into FCP.
