  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

What does coding have to do with her majesty's secret service?

On some level you want to have an app that can search and relink files. But by the same token you need to enforce some kind of order to workflows. I guess I'll loose on that argument. So search and relink is in the spec for the upcoming beta version.

I have to leave the ski bungalow now, gunmen with machine guns are parachuting in.

By any chance is your ski bungalow in Lake Tahoe?
 
Here's hoping you can get those handles working.

For me on the project I have right now, your XML is actually causing more rendering than if I just converted the entire shoot via Cine...it took me a minute to figure it out to realize you had that caveat on your Wiki page.

Is getting trimmed shots into RedCine going to be monumental?

Working on it right now. It's just a bug. I have to go over the output files with a fine tooth comb. It's already working into Redcine, you should try it.
It's the FCPRoundtrip I think to that's broken.

I'm going to add an option so that repeat shots are not rendered multiple times as well. That will mean only one color parameter for each shot. But that currently reeks havoc on the numbering system.

The trouble for me is every time I test it I have to render.:ohmy: :ohmy:

I did indeed try it...I was getting a weird combo of shots that RedCine was seeing when the XML was opened.

Starting the render out was giving me a time of 35 hours, which seemed to me not right since it was only about a 70 second timeline (but with 70 cuts probably) that I was trying to get output.
 
all is working great at the first view. reimporting xml in fcp seems also fine.
that is great ian! converting and reconforming with three mouseclicks that is bad ass man..... :)

one thing... it looks like,that the non redcode clips are left out when opening the reconformed xml in fcp. i know it is hard hacking work... but that would be awsome to have this clips in after that also automatically.

seems that fcp has a problem with the naming convention:

in the fcp roundtrip xml is the filename ending with:
A001_C002_071104_herbstrockxml.Redcine.mov</pathurl>

but when i import the xml in fcp it shows all clips offline and shows the filename:
A001_C002_071104_herbstrockxml.Redcine

looks like fcp don't recognize the real fileextension because of the use of two dots.

then there are I think three shots missed in the timeline... probably this ones with a speedramp in fcp made....

Redcine will not load your R3D files in sequence order if we return to a cut duplicate times.

Do me a favor and load into Redcine, then send me all the files. Including a .RCN, a Redcine non-XML project, that you can export from Redcine.

is that fixed given naming convention in redcine with this .redcine.mov ?

so it seems that it is not the naming convention, it seems like the event number from the xml is not matching with the filename. I have attached the log of fcp after importing the xml. for example event 005 there i found the file: A009_C001_071104_herbstrockxml.Redcine.mov exported from redecine but fcp wants regarding the xml A001_C002_071104_herbstrockxml.Redcine.mov

any thoughts.... ???
