  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RedTrip is EOL - CRIMSON is coming!!

define very very soon and super cheap just a little bit more please?
a month, a week? ballpark $ ????

Very soon is PRE-NAB.

It's done, he's just making it bullet proof, creating a little documentation, trying to break it, etc.

As for price - that's up to Ian to spill the beans ... but stupid cheap. Practically free.

If you have a Quantum A series LTO drive - (our application previously called "RedTools" soon to have a new name as soon as we think of it) - you are in luck - our application will do an automated pull of RDCs used in a cut, or the change list ...

and OBVIOUSLY, if you can read between the lines, Offhollywood's app and Ian's app will be "fully integrated" -
Mark,
I can't wait to hear more about your app.
When do you plan on releasing more info about it ?
LTO3 A series support sounds fantastic.

I'm definitely buying your apps.

Please don't forget Avid support...

Nils.

Avid just hooked Ian up with a seat.

CRIMSON's Avid workflow will be off the hook - we walked me through it - it is brilliant.

And we are collaborating on Premiere Pro parsers.

But it will be released first with FCP support.

Cool, thanks Mark.

I still have a couple of months to wait before I get my camera. Hopefully it will be out by then...

Will your app be out around NAB too ?

Thank you for your great work.
Nils.

Sign me up as a beta tester... you can double-check that dopey camera guys can run it! ;)
Harry

We produced a RED shoot for AVID internal with Ian last week and I can definitely say he's got the goods.
AVID support is definitely coming and we'll be in the trenches with Ian and Michael P making it rock solid.

Ian & Mark,

Great stuff thanks, I can't wait to test it.

My cameras will be delivered in May, but I have some demo footage and would love to test it on Vista with Premiere Pro.

Let me know if you need a beta tester!

Dave

Props to Ian and Mark!!!

We have $ burning hole in pockets for said apps. Bring them on!!!

PS- love this RED community and can-do spirit. If someone needs something, someone is already figuring it out in their own lab.

Ok what did I miss? What the cornbread hell is this software everyone is so excited about? What's it do?

Does someone mean to tell me we FINALLY have R3D support for Premiere before NAB? Is this possible without Jim throwing a nutty?

Jay

Bah that LTO-3 seria A drive makes it too easy ;-). However it does sound elegant and I like that. Just worried about media transportability. However if the community does decide to go that way, I don't see it being a problem.

My workflow assumes LTO-3 is just your backup, and that all your R3D footage resides on a filesystem such as several drives or a RAID accessible directly by your editing system, all at once. Thus its more geared toward smaller high turnaround gigs, and indie features. A larger facility with multiple projects and archives would need to create an extensive database.... I heard someone was working on just that... but I can't remmember who...

Ian,

Sounds like my set up. Do I get a % for it being based on me? :innocent: lol Bring it on! Brilliant work.

Ian's app is WORKFLOW.

Our app is INJEST, META-DATA & ASSET MANAGEMENT.

You will want them both. I know I do. They will work together brilliantly.

(Ian's app will be out there before ours will - we have a TON of features that are not enabled yet in our adventure)

This is really good news.
Anything you or Ian can tell us about how the Avid or Premiere workflow would be appreciated. I an trying to decide which would work best with Red.

I know everything is hush-hush but NAB is along ways away.

Will Crimson help Redcine put the clips with handles in the right order? A cut ABABAB shows up as AAABBB now with RedTrip. If the clips where in the right order we wouldn't need edls or xmls or gluetools to conform dpx sequences. Rendering EVENT001, EVENT002 etc would do the trick.. Right?
