I was under the impression that Redspace was supposed to even things out so that different methods of viewing all somewhat matched. What I see on the RED LCD and the 17" Panasonic monitor are close to the same but the QT proxies are a lot darker.

I don't understand. Please help.

Are you looking at qt proxies in FCP? Final cut has gamma issues, and I was worried about the same thing in build 15 but when i burned them to dvd the director/producers said the dailies didn't look too dark.

Well, the proxies look a little bit darker in FCP than in quicktime, but not much. Certainly darker that what I see on the RED LCD and panny monitor.

I don't think the gamma issues are resolved yet. So they will look darker in QT (and, as a result, FCP).

sounds like the age old gamma/quicktime problem..

when i open the r3d file in redalert, grade it and then render it in prores flavor and then open in qt, the grade is washed out, and not looking good at all....
that is running osx 10.5.2 with qt 7.4.1, but on xp when rendering out of redcine in qt mjpeg the gamma holds.

Is there a combination osx version/qt version that resolve this?

thanks,
antoine.
