Jarred was very, very sneaky one night on the book of face. A special 5K sensor named Gemini with a 6 micron sensor for a special customer teased with a low light test. Which also led to a very limited "batch" available for sale via direct email for a tremendous price.

Supposed to be 2 stops more sensitive than Helium, hard to truly know in comparison to Monstro, but likely around 1 stop sensitive as well. Jarred stated if you wanted to shoot with it under outdoor conditions you will truly need ND of some sort. The good news is, we have really high quality NDs these days.

6 microns. You'll want to remember that number pretty soon. It will be relevant in other places in just a few days.

In terms of Gemini, I wonder where something like this can go from here. Personally I'd be very, very interested in an DCI 8K cut of this sort of tech.

Y’all are being very sneaky what with code words and a lot of read between the lines. Makes me feel like a little boy all over again!

Gemini looks fantastic for astrophotography (and looking deeper into the shadows). In the words of a game character in Prey, what will we see looking back at us?

I missed the buy opportunity on FB. I’m sure they were gone in 15 seconds anyway. And it would have been a total impulse buy that would probably be silly for me to actually have gone through with. Although I think I would have done it. Seems like just the camera / sensor I’ve been thinking of for some astrophotography stuff. You know, hobby stuff that would never pay for the camera...

I’d really like to see a Gemini sensor offering to swap into a DSMC2 brain. Perhaps a ~6.8K VV sized one. I would probably rent it on occasion, doubt I would own it. I’m just super pleased with my 8K Monstro and even with that, hardly have any time to use it.

Moral of the story is to turn on 'Post Notifications' for Jarred:) I was lucky enough to hop on this.

From what I've been told thus far, these ship around the middle of this month, so we should be seeing some footage then. I did seem to see on FB where Jarred briefly showed something and then took it down on FB ... I assume it was test footage. All I saw was the comments asking for the video to be put back up;)

Scrolling through a ton of comments on Insta and FB, I found out the Gemini brains are actually Weapon bodies, so they can be sensor swapped later to Monstro or what not. Assuming 32x32x32 LUTs, 4K ProRes and all that stuff comes along with it in the current build situation.
