  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED's EPIC Pelican Case 1510

Labels- the labels come off easily with the edge of a razor blade. Just pick a corner and lift and then peel off. Use a bit of denatured alcahol or acetone to remove adhesive residue. You can take off the original Pelican case labels as well as the Red labels this way. I made a template label in AI and have a buddy of mine Dan Vaughan (Way Out Thar Signs) make me replacement labels. Additionally, all my cases are labeled with large reflective 3M vinyl "PRIO2" logos for easy ID.

hope this helps!

Where did you buy the original from?

You can buy the Pelican 1510 a lot of places. Amazon is great because you get free shipping on qualifying orders, and free 2-day shipping with a prime membership.

The foam that comes in them sucks, but you can have a company like Cases Plus (www.casesplus.com) design and cut custom high-quality foam for you. Even with the custom foam design, cutting and material, you'll pay less for this setup than you would from RED. While it may not be convenient, it sure is nice having a completely customized case. All of my cases are customized to be efficient, with intuitive placement of all of my gear.

One other option for custom foam cases is Innerspace. They were recommended to me by Duclos Lenses and they did a fantastic job on my ZF.2 case.

The Scarlet ships in a custom cut foam cube, which is inside a carboard box. If you carefully remove the foam cube, it fits perfectly in a 1510...leaving a snug inch of pick n pluck that surrounds the Scarlet foam cube.

Hey Brian...

1. Maybe a custom made logo of your choosing can be placed over the existing Epic Badge? A printed or cut vinyl should work fine as the Badge is smooth with no embossing etc.

2. The laser cut foam inside the Pelican 1510 has "options" other areas you could cut out or modify ...however....

3. ..it fits the Scarlet PERFECTLY and all its accessories. I couldn't imagine using anything else. I was able to fly with the case as cabin baggage, this may not be the case for all airlines, but it did fit the criteria for Qantas.

Hope this helps.. ;)
