Help!

I can't get RedRushes to work on my 8-core Mac Pro. It works fine on my MacBook Pro though.

I get "error" message in the progress window all the time, both B15 and B16.

We had the same problem at our post facility. We reverted to version 3.38 and everything seemed to work fine after that.

Yep. Same error as Jonas--No love from Redrushes. 10.5.4 on 8-core with all latest Red software.

If you're getting the 'error' message then REDline might not have been installed correctly. The apple installer has been doing some brain dead things.
Try removing RA,RR, and RL, then fixing permissions on the drive and then reinstall. Then check that RL is installed and is the right version.

The next thing to try is exporting the script and running the script in the shell. Post the REDline command that's failing as that would help also.

Thanks Deanan, I'd tried uninstalling and removing and reinstalling RC, RA and RL 5 times. I eventually figured out that version 3.3.8 works fine, so I'm using that now.

If I uninstall 3.3.8 and reinstall any of he newer versions, it won't work.. weird?

I'm just happy that it's working as I don't need any of the new features for this job (but will for the future..)

The last bit is way too technical for us non techies. Will try tho.

Have followed your instructions - still doesn't work. V3.38 work though on the 8-core.

Should useful if installers made a receipt so you check/get rid of old files!

Deanan

Is it possible for you to post a receipt so you can see where everything ends up.

Also I think it should be great (or even necessary) if you in coming updates give us a clue how to find out which version of everything which is running (or can I find this somewhere?). For example the QT codec - all other codec show current version if you look in the info window.

Same problem here on my macbook Pro. Redline and all the automator actions are being installed in the root of the hard drive. I can't imagine this is correct? Where is everything supposed to be going? Can we just manually move the files where they need to be?

The apple installer is somehow deciding that it's wants to change where things are getting installed. Really lame.

REDline goes in /usr/sbin
REDalert and REDrushes go in /Applications
the automator actions go in /Library/Automator

I've rebuilt the installer for v. 3.47.

Send me an email at deanan - at - red if anyone would like to try it out.

*shakes fist at apple installer*

drat you, apple installer!

Thanks Deanan :ninja:

Good News! I've received version 3.47 from Deanan - and now is RedRushes running steady and really fast. Much faster than before. Haven't tested all resolutions and options though. This will be a monster tool for all Red owners!

If we just could solve the problems with Log and Transfer (which I can't get going), I will be quite happy with the workflow.
