Hey everyone,

Today I went to redrelay.net to download some R3D files to work with, before I go into post on another project, one that will be my first RED project with Final Cut Pro. Now, I am extremely well versed in the Final Cut Pro but there was an issue I was having with both RedRushes and RedAlert. Basically in RedRushes it will begin to render out a quicktime but it will stay at 1%, and will just lag there. Also, with RedAlert the same thing. So both of them just hang without rendering out anything, and I left them running for quite some time and no progress was made.

I went into the Activity Monitor and saw that redline will spike the CPU processing but them drop quickly and stay at 0%... so I assume RedRushes is not even doing anything.

I am attempting this process on a Mac Pro 2.8 GHz Dual Xeon, with 4 GB of RAM, and ample hard drive space. Thanks for any help!

So for anyone who is having this issue, I found the solution. Basically I downloaded R3D files from redrelay.net and these didn't work. But I am currently in post on another project that has the all the other files created by RED. So I think you can't just use R3D files by themselves, you need the other files in each respective folder in order for RedAlert and RedRushes to be able to transcode the files. Hope this helps.
