Not sure where to post this, nobody seems to use the redrocket section much.
Anyway today my rocket stopped working. I noticed that the card didn't register any drivers installed in the system overview. The only reason i can see this may have happened is that i installed a try/buy version of smoke, when installing it asked me if my mac had 64-bit Kernel and Extensions installed. Could these events be linked? anyone else installed smoke and have this problem? When i try to install the rocket drivers, they seem to be going on to the machine and after reboot, nothing, no card available in redcine-X. I am running a Macpro 3.2ghz 8 core / leopard 5.6.2/ card is in slot 2.

any thoughts anyone.?

Just a thought, are you running Leopard or Snow Leopard? It looks like the regular Leopard from your post. I went to a Smoke demo last week and it only runs on Snow Leopard because it is 64 bit. I don't what that has to do with your REDROCKET problem but it doesn't look like your system is compatible with the software trial.

Hey thanks Brian,

I worked it out. After installing smoke, my system was booting in 64bit mode, so the RedRocket drivers were not recognised, and i could not install them after either. I rebooted my machine in 32bit mode and the card was there again.

Have the same problem here, had installed the beta version of Smoke and couldn´t get my shiny new Red Rocket to work.. after some searching and fiddling around I simply re-installed Snow Leopard again and the Rocket worked.
After intense testing (Rocket worked like a charme) I installed the latest Smoke-Version.

Upon reading your post I checked back with System Profiler - the Rocket Drivers are shown as not installed :-(
Will post this to the Autodesk Forum, but due to the holidays an answer could be some days away..

Anybody else has this problem, or better: found a solution?

At the moment the only way is to run your machine in 32Bit mode when using rocket and 64bit mode when using smoke. You can do this by holding down 3+2 or 6+4 when booting.

Hi Robert, thanks for the answer .. coincidentally we found out the same thing. Any chance we could get 64-Bit drivers for the Rocket?

according to REd there is not an ETA for 64bit RedRocket drivers, which is a bit of a problem as we move ever increasingly into a 64bit world.
