Hello everybody,

anybody out there who experienced this RR error as well?
I dont mean the 4X/8X Lane "issue", this is normal, the RRcard lives in a Sonnet Echo ThunderBold chassis.
Computer is a MBP2011 with latest OSX/RCX/RRDiriver/RRFirmware ...
The Rocket is on in RCX (illuminated Rocket sign).
Yes i was in "SaveMode" and i "reflashed" the card with the latest firmware ...
Yes DipSwitch is set back to off ...

I hope i did it right with uploading the ScreenShot, but for safety here is the Error code:

"RR Callback - Decode Failed - Frame: 0item: 0x10be4d780 Mode 'DRCR' CostomSize: 2400x1350 PixelType: 0x42475238 imageBuffer: 0x11a801000 bufferSize: 0x00945200 RowBytes: 7200 RocketStatus: 4 DecodeError: 786467 - Failed to decode (Corrupt Frame?)"

The footage i was using is OK, works normally without RR, tested it with footage shot in different resolutions, generated by different cameras.
It's definitely not the footage! And it's always the same ErrorCode.

Any help out there on that one?

same problem here. worked fine after lastest firmware, which we need to run the latest rcx, but after shutting it down
for 2 hours, we had the problem. sits in a Sonnet XL thunderbolt chassis...
RR Callback - Decode Failed - Frame: 240 Item: 0x1050b1560 Mode: 'DHRG'

Same thing here. Also in Echo express pro.
Worked all day yesterday without problems, did update cuda driver to 5.0.45 but before I worked with it.
Today I'm getting the same error msg as the others...

Had this issue all the time with my sonnet enclosure. Once I got the rocket back in my Mac Pro tower it was happy.

Had same issue with the sonnet enclosure after the latest firmware/drivers update. randomly giving transcode or decode errors on properly backed up footage. after rebooting laptop and enclosure would get errors on different clips or frames.

took it out of the sonnet enclosure and back in the macpro and it's working fine. and the sonnet enclosure seems to work fine with other cards (hba, esata, fw800)

the interesting thing is that working with the rocket on the sonnet enclosure with davinci wouldn't give any problems. either full res or half res high.

17 macbook pro i7 2.5ghz (october 2011), tried on 10.8.0, 10.8.2 and 10.8.3, several versions of rcx and the last two sets of drivers/firmware.

had the exact same issue, turned out to be a hardware defect, as gunleik said send the card in.it will fail completely sooner or later. the dip switch reset was only a temporary fix for me, after another day the card gave out completely. red will offer you a new replacement one. sorry to see yours go. there are more and more threads from people with the exact same isse, the rockets seem to fail by the truckload with this exact same problem at the moment.

here is the next one: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?96985-REDROCKET-dead/page4

went back to 10.8.2 and reinstalled rocket firmware and it works again... as usual...
So many times I thought it was dead and it always comes back to life one way or the other...
First it worked in my Mac Pro 2.1, then it stopped working.
Same for my Mac pro 3.1
And now the same for the Sonnet Echo express, but got it working again :) I wonder for how long.

reading your posts makes me think of those kayakers that jump of the top of waterfalls. A game a Red Rocket Roulette.

just wanted to post a little update about the issues i was having with my echo pro, random black frames on decodes after DecodeError messages in RCX on random frames that would be fine on the r3ds.

it turns out that the thunderbolt port on my laptop was fried and would only fail on heavy usage like redrocket transcodes, working fine fine with other thunderbolt devices like ultrastudio 3d, echo expresscard pro with both sxs cards and esata express cards, etc.

after a quick applecare service i got the motherboard replaced and my sonnet/rocket works again on my mbp 17 oct2011. i have to say that their original tests at the genius bar didn't reveal any problems and i had to insist to send the laptop back to service.
