  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Redrock microRemote?

I can't wait to get the "oh, actually it's coming REALLY SOON" email again. LOL

Give it another 3 years before this thing is actually working in the capacity that they advertized (iPhone in the hand control unit) because they're going to have to re-design it for the larger iPhone 5 and smaller dock connector, among other things.

We've only been twiddling our thumbs for a few years though, what's a few more? :out:

That's intriguing. I looked at this system at NAB and was moderately impressed, but they couldn't give a precise date for it going on sale - 'soon'. So thanks for the link!

I ordered the version with the full-size follow focus this evening; ordering was painless, I got an acknowledgment email pretty fast, which said order would enter production as soon as it was paid for (which it has been) and the email included a link to delivery status on their website which stated the current lead time was one day - so I guess they have plenty stock on hand. Should show up next week, I'll let you know the verdict!

The iOS version doesn't have Apple certification yet, and if the iPhone/iPod size changes in the Fall you'll be screwed. I wouldn't think of buying something that didn't have a certain delivery date... although at this point, Redrock has broken too many promises and I am quite happy with the Chrosziel wireless system that I've had for 2 years now.

The iOS hand controller is not ergonomic at all... just depends on who you have operating I guess. Most people will likely prefer the more standard controller.
 
According to the video link in the pre-order email, the iPhone controller will add $600 when it becomes available.

Anyone know if the motors will mount to 19mm rods? They only seem to show them on 15mm...
 
Played with the MicroRemote at Cinegear, got hooked, and ordered. Wondering if any of you early birds have received shipping notices.

Ordered last week. Paid in full. Order acknowledgement email said would go straight to production once it had been paid for.

Separate link in email led to current status web page, which said lead time was '1 Day' i.e. plenty stock on hand for immediate shipping.

Paid for overnight shipping.

Since then - *nothing*. No further info, no tracking emails, no status updates, nothing.

Not too impressed.

If I don't hear anything by next week, I'd think about calling scam on this - will call my bank.

There may have been a credit card auth (which is just a check the credit card company does to see if the card is valid) but we absolutely don't charge until it is shipped. If you see something different, please contact us asap.

I am really interested in the system, with the new paralinx arrow, this microremote, and a jib products are finally priced and featured to align with the pricepoint/market of the scarlet. Owner/operator prices.

interested in the motor dB noise, but other than that plan on grabbing the wireless bundle and adding on the handheld wheel for the shoulder rig at a later date.
 
Hi Mike - we don't have one answer for all orders - because it's new, we're going slowly and making sure we get good feedback, so it's a little at a time. Your specific ship date depends on where in the queue you are, but as I said, drop me a line and I can look into that for you.

@Joe - the motor is really quiet - most people who have played with it have made that remark. We'll see about a db test. on the handheld wheel, are you talking about the fingerwheel or the follow focus emulator? Both are great, the fingerwheel is in this ship group, the emulator is coming later.
