I need to purchase a follow focus for 19mm rods. The only two under $1500 options are the Redrock Micro "Blue" Follow focus with 19mm adapter, and the Cinevate Durus follow focus with 19mm clamp.

Has anybody tried both systems, and can provide feedback about which is a better product? I will be using them with Zeiss Compact Primes EF mostly, with some still lenses thrown in.

Thanks!

We had a bad experience with RedRock. We found their gear to be lower quality. I can't speak specifically for their FF but we worked with their mattebox, rails, accessories. Love the look of their stuff and their website though.

Haven't tried the Cinevate but have found their other products to be very strong... although their innovation is sometimes behind.

We ended up getting a Vocus FF after testing a bunch. For our Epic we went O'Connor after a lot of testing etc.

I have the Cinevate follow focus and its as strong as a tank. Actually selling it for $1K inc shipping...used with just light wear marks and perfect working condition like new. Comes with additional large gear and two marker rings.

Both are good for the price.
The Redrock will gain backlash if you use stiff lenses. I had my first set of lomo killed the V1 I owned at the time.

Have you considered O'connor ? It's a little more, but having the CFF1, I'm sure the Ofocus worth its $1799.
