Hi all,

I bought the RedRock Micro Mattebox early on, got frustrated by its 'studio' 15 and 19 brackets because they hit Arri and ET dovetails, making the mattebox even more unfriendly on set.

It took awhile but I had a few dovetail compatible brackets made up (1 for me and and a few for whomever else might want one).

Let me know if you want one. $325 ea. I have one or possibly two of the 15mm brackets (15mm brackets are all gone now) and a few more than that of the 19mm brackets.

Lightweight but sturdy hard anodized machined aluminum with stainless steel hardware.

Sorry about the mediocre quality of the iphone photo.

Regards,
Paul

The attached image in the first post is different than the attached thumbnail. Not sure how I did that, but ... :)

Even more unfriendly?

What else has caused you trouble?

I've been very happy with the RedRock Mattebox... but its not an Arri. The main thing I miss is some durability. Not such a big deal for gear I own and use- though I'd hate to be on either side of a rental deal with that MB.

Hi Alexander,

Yes, not as durable was what I was referring to. But holds glass and blocks light: I've used it on a number of features, which is why I made the brackets... I'm thankful for it because it allowed me to use the thousands I saved on the Redrock to buy other things.

I have the bracket and its worked flawlessly for me. It was a huge improvement over the original.

Bump -- and thanks Vince.

15mm brackets are entirely gone.

I still have a few 19mm brackets.

Again, these will let you use the RedRock Mattebox with a sliding dovetail plate and not hit the plate with the bracket (as Redrock's bracket does) therefore making this mattebox a far better fit to a production environment

A couple 19mm brackets available.

Regards,

P

Thanks for the report Ben. Sorry about the lack of 15's Ken.

Couple 19 mm brackets available.
