Now with REDRAY shipping we should try to collect links and give tips on how to share your own content and so on. Would be good to have a list of content-providers (private and commercial) in one place, don't you think?

They are not ready yet. And red is not waiting for them anymore.

RED is not going to integrate anything new into the REDRAY...it's end-of-life and they are just clearing the inventory they have:

We do not anticipate any further firmware development for REDRAY so the features you see are the full scope of the REDRAY player.

I wouldn't say it that harsh, but yes, this little sentence gives a lot to think. It's sad.
Still, the player is currently the best we can get, fine for lots of content.

Somehow we need to make content-providers aware of it and the demand for .RED-encoded 4k-material.

Hey, where is that store, like HDtracks for audio, that sells downloads of movies and tv-shows in superior quality? ;)

Consumer products are a tough market... and not really Red's 'core competency'. That doesn't mean they couldn't have been successful... but with the heavy hitters entering the market it would have be very challenging. I'm still looking forward to getting mine... I want it for easily displaying my own content on 4k displays for customer presentation. Combine this with the 4k perceptive pixel display that Microsoft has hinted is coming late summer and I'll have an excellent presentation tool.
