Been talking to some clients about the RED and workflow.
A basic Varicam HD split would be a downconverted HD signal to a GVD-1000 mini-dv clamshell using the AJA HD10MD3 sometimes setting up the output to include TC from the VF display for a TC burn copy.

I take it the same could be done using the HD-SDI feed from the Red into the
AJA HD10MD3, being 24p the output will be down-converted NTSC composite using the AJA HD10MD3 (NZ is PAL)

But what would be very, very cool is if the REDQUICK proxies had the ability to display Timecode like a Timecode burn dub. You could then do your instantaneous REDQUICK transfer to Quicktime proxies, burn them to DVD and your Director, DP etc have immediate dailies.

Is it possible to have the Timecode VF info switched off in the VF for the Cam Op yet transmitted over the HD-SDI signal as part of the monitor/split feed?

The outputs on the camera are clean in the sense that they don't display all the information from the evf or lcd. I think it was Stuart who said you'd have to hook a preview up from one the two mentioned connections if you wanted to record the picture with data overlayed.

100% possible and YES, I want it too - but not "burn" - "overlay" rendered in RT with the GPU -
