Hi guys, I know that Epic has several superior features compared to redone-mx, such as frame rate, 5k and many others,
but the image quality of Epic, color sampling, noise and dynamic range are better than the redone-mx? Comparing 4k vs 4k footage.

I'm guessing that the Epic will "look" better because of the 5k, the better compression and the inherent downsampling that you will do. More pixels to start with results in a cleaner picture when you go to say 2k. That being said, I have a feeling that the Epic-X and the Red-MX are going to look nearly identical to 99% of the population. Us pixel peepers will notice but overall I'm pretty sure it's the same identical chip, only a little bigger. Correct me if I'm wrong

actually, it's been said a number of times that the epic with the same sensor as the red mx will be pretty much the same for everyone. As far as I know for real differences you will have to wait for the Epics with bigger sensors; that is, if we are only talking about image quality

Yes, same chip but higher Res (5k) and RedCode values (soon to be compression ratios) due to a much more powerful processor.

4k to 4k Epic with a higher RC# will come out better, if your show needs it.

Epic will be great, but I expect my Red1mx cameras to still be worthy in the future.

i was under the impression that the epic will have a lower noise floor than the MX? meaning that epic can use highter iso's with cleaner results?

The first Epics will use the Mysterium X sensor (the exact same thing as in MX upgraded REDs - only larger), later the larger format Epics will come with the next generation Monstro sensor, which will be even better.
