  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I hooked my redmote to my camera and paired the unit, as soon as I detach the redmote from the camera it searches for the camera. The name of my camera appears on my redmote but when I click the enter button nothing happens. Can someone help me with wireless redmote connection I followed the instructions in the manual and still no luck.

When the redmote scans, and the small menu comes up, don't hit rescan, just scroll down to default, then hit enter.
 
I do scroll down to default and hit enter yet nothing happens it stays there as if the enter button does not work. I even renamed the connection and it does appear on the redmote my new camera name but still nothing when i push enter. This is why I am not sure what to do. I am happy to try any suggestion but not sure why this is not working
 
You shouldn't have to redo the "connect' procedure after you remove the REDMOTE. Have you gone back in the camera menu to see if the camera is still paired after you remove the REDMOTE?

Try pairing the two while they are disconnected.
 
Do you have latest Redmote firmware installed? I don't know if there is a way to find that info on your camera. I've looked through the menus and in the manual but have been unable to learn what firmware my Redmote came with. Another possibility is that your enter button may not be working properly. Contact your Bemb Squad rep if that's the case.

I will sugest to submit a support ticket. I don't see why a sales rep have to fix this issue.
 
I found mine paired fine while attached but wouldn't when I removed it. I discovered that I hadn't formally paired it, but that it just worked because it was connected.

Did you go through the manual section on how to formally pair it? When I did this mine then worked off the camera.

When you hit enter does the list disappear or stay up? There have been reports of stuck Enter buttons, perhaps that is what you are experiencing.

The REDmote only lets you make the same adjustments as the drop down spinners on the LCD. There is currently no way to make the advanced settings except for using the REDmote in remote mode to navigate the menu system on the LCD (or other monitor). In that case it behaves just like a side handle - press UP when an item is selected to access the advanced settings dialog.
 
Thanks for all the responses. The camera still showes it is paired when removed but the enter button itself seems that it does not work. After I select the camera on the redmote and push enter the list does not disappear it actual does nothing this is why I am concerned. I will put in a support ticket today and see what red suggests.
 
I just received my new REDMOTE and am having exact same issue. Tech support assured me they test the units, but I can't believe my could have passed a QC inspection. It would be nice to hear something from RED on this issue.
 
My enter button is not work and I can;t hook up a Screen as I need to switch to HDMI anyone know how to switch with just the redmote and no screen?
I did submit a ticket

If you can get the enter button to work. Just click on one of your sub menus buttons (8-4) hit 2, that will bring take it to local, scrowl to an empty slot. Hit 3, go down to set up slot. then if you can get the enter to work, you can find HDMI mode and turn it to menu.
