My Canon-L lenses and my Canon mount are hungry.

My guess is that the release of the RM Pro will come only after there is a bit of a refinement in the auto focus capabilities in the firmware. Right now, although I find the AF to be good, I don't think it is ready for prime time when it comes to smoothly pulling focus. Like you, I hope it all comes together sooner rather than later!

Autofocus firmware and control of the lens are two distinct capabilities and technologies. I'm itching to get my hands on this, just knowing its still in the works would be tremendous, and would affect some significant here-and-now decisions for me. I can't be alone on that...?

RED have a lot on their plates, and the Pro is an all-singing, all-dancing device.

I think there's a great chance here for a third party (maybe one of the usual suspects, maybe someone new) to step into the ring and introduce a remote (wired or wireless) that talks to the RED camera and JUST provides electronic FF for stills lenses. Nothing else; one knob; an electronic replacement for mechanical FF. Something to augment the existing Redmote, not replace it.

That can't be too hard to do...? I'm frankly surprised no-one has done it already. Maybe those who might have done it expected the Pro to hit the market a lot sooner than it appears it will; it's not even a dot on the horizon on the backorder update...

shouldn't be too hard, but you have to have the command codes, I asked repeatedly for the protocol but no response.

F*** Yes. Man this would be HUGE. I feel like something must be going on, it's suprising no other companies have said much about doing this. Red must have it locked down.

I think there gonna show it at nab with a new set of RPP's that work with it.

I think RED has this one locked down. I wouldn't expect any 3rd party vendors to be involved with anything like that for a while. We would jump on it if RED allowed vendors to interface with the REDlink protocol
